Hey everyone I know it's being asked alot lately but looking at a holiday at musket cove in Fiji and was wondering if anyone has stayed there before and if it's any good for kiting, I notice that they hire windsurfing gear on the island but wondered if anyone knew if they hire kite gear or is it better to take my own?

Cheers if ya can help

Hi Dave

i've never been there for kiting - know some that have. SHQ used to take groups to the same island until they decided Wind not reliable enough and then brought groups with Ivan / Paul to Safari Lodge for 3 consequetive years.

I'd also check the Windsurfing Gear rental options - it's always a loose term in tropical holiday destinations that aren't specifically designed around Wind or Kite holidays and clients as to the quality / variety of the gear available.

Close to surf breaks if your into that - about a 30 min boat ride.

The S.E. trade winds bend and refract around the main island and although the winds can get into Malolo, it is usually 10 knots less than other places in Fiji - like where i am!

Let me know if i can assist further - have a great time!

Warren knows what he is talking about!
the wind season has kicked off in Fiji, atleast where the Safari Lodge is
Warren has been a great, taking us out to great kiting spots where the wind is reliable and consistent 4 days straight of some of the best kiting conditions you could ask for and it looks to continue...... 24 more days of kiting!!!

What about somewhere great for kiting with some luxury accommodation as well?
Any suggestions?

You know where to find me!

The kiting looks nice.
The accommodation is not to my liking sorry.

I was looking for something more like this?

Hey Kurt, where is that place? I wonder what the price difference is. Me, I could do either, and my wife wouldn't mind either way. But your shot does look nice. The real difference is how far away is the nearest kiting or surfing!

Just had a look on google for beach holiday accomodation - don't know where it is sorry.

I could probably do kitesurfari with some mates but not for a ultimate family/kite holiday. Maybe one day....

I'm kind thinking just buy another tinnie for about the same dough and stay local for winter winds - bit cool though like 18-20c. Below was a couple of winters ago.
Out in Moreton bay .

These places do exist in Fiji, however they come with a hefty price tag and you will need to take pot luck on whether the place is kiteable.

You can check out options at www.firstclass.com.au
