That's a perfectly good vintage bar there... looks like the one I learnt on for my second kite (no really).

hahhahahahha

I've been looking for that!!

The way in which the bar came to be in that setup is a long story!

Firstly, the gear is very very old, I bought it with a 11.5 naish kite about 7 years ago and it was second hand back then!
So I was kitting at pellies, just starting off and learning the ropes when the QR releases, letting the kite fly off and hit a wind surfer (not a happy one at that). The kite does have a bundgy cord attach to the harness to stop the kite flying off, but it was old and broke!

Now the way the QR worked it was a simple pin through the ropes where the bolt now is and being a **** design once the pin came out it just fell to the ground resulting in it being lost.

As the wind was up the next day and I was still a week away from starting uni, I though I'd fix the problem of this **** QR with no pin by putting a big fat ass bolt through the ropes (as shown above). So there was no nut just the bolt, as that thing took me about 15mins to wiggle through the tight squeeze and was going nowhere!

Now I know not having a QR is dangerous thing but unhooking is easy enough and does the same thing it this setup.

A mate of mine nicknamed this kite 'the Hash bag' because it was so old, unsafe and unpredictable. The last time I used it was after it caught an up draft and launched me over the kitting sign at pellican point, making me use it's 'Safety release' of unhooking 2.5 above the foot path!

Since my time of using the Hash Bag I have bought a newer gear and since learnt how to kite properly.

So as I don't use the kite anymore I don't really need the bar back, but Ill grab it off you for gags and that beer.
