So what settings are people getting the best results with?
I took mine out yesterday set on r5. Seems to distort the pics a fair bit. Some look ok rotated.
Heres a couple of the better ones. Im keen to see more of other crews, I know there are a heap of people out there with them.
Some of the facial expressions can be pretty dam funny.
They look that way because the case it's mounted into has a slight fish eye lens to capture a wide view. I use R4 so that it records at 60fps then when slown down to 25 fps you get great slow-motion the water looks awesome !
I use cinema tools and final cut
Also the stills distortion may be from the camera rotating as the picture is being taken, but being hand held being still will be a challenge!
I use R4 for tall and non-fish-eye kind of views, and R5 for wide fish-eye kind of views.
Did you catch any fish?
i've only used the helmet strap thingy, problem is that it doesn't do the waves justice, makess 10ft waves look like 'pony' 5fterss
yeh guys its a brought mount pretty good but only really works with kites that have a Y spread of front lines about 2-3m up... running on a cab nomad... you can buy these mounts from adventurecameras.com.au a perth company.. they cost 60 bucks...
Cheap as chips line mount: simply take the square black mount that the camera is on in the box when you buy it, drill some holes (I did 8) and cable tie it on to your front lines: 2 cable ties per line. It bounces around a bit, but good for getting some nice shots.
PS: Thoughts with you guys and the floods.
I took out the fishing pole again yesterday.
This time I had it set on r4. I think it worked a bit better.
