A great warm up session was had by quite a few Kiters for the Gold Coast Kite Jam today with smooth constant winds from the NE at approx 20 to 23 kts. Tomorrows forcast for the GC according to the News media is for 15 to 20 kts winds from the North to North East during the morning before a Southerly change in the afternoon of 10 to 15 kts? and some possible afternoon storms. Certainly the weather is something we do not have an on/off switch but there is still the planned Party on Saturday Evening for competitors and SEQKA members where there will be all sorts of fun and frivolity before the final shootout of comps on Sunday. Start time for tomorrow weather permitting is 11am and we suggest those entering to be there at least an hour before hand at approx 10am Committee Member

Thats the most optimistic forecast I ever heard!

Hopefully it comes in for you guys. Perhaps Sunday will be the day. Today and yesterday would have been perfect!

I personally have found the nightly news forcast to be more accurate than the breezes. But I don't want to try to convince you if your convinced.

Well the Gold Coast Kite Jam has kicked off with success. Although a slight delay in proceedings due to Huey trying to muck us around but we did get a solid hour of running the Freestyle and Wave Riding Events in all catagories in reasonable 20 kts SE winds with about 30+ Kiters out. It was a spectacular sight to see the Kiters putting on a great display of ariel acrobatics and slicing up wave faces like you would not believe. Quite a crowd of onlookers gathered and were equally impressed to see the competitors out there enjoying themselves. Tonight we are all off to our social night gathering where the fun is expected to continue and keeping our fingers crossed that we can get some more wind tomorrow to complete the Jam. No doubt photos will be posted in due course so please stay tuned
