Great White Shark

The pic looks cosy enough but Ive actually seen one of these monsters (about that healey size) come right up to the surface beside an 18' abalone boat off Julia Percy Is. in Vic.
Made me rethink my previously care less attitude to surfing, diving etc ever since.
Body language or otherwise they are seriously scary mofu's in the flesh.
I wouldnt pull that stunt in a fit.
Not cool - just crazy.

actually i wouldnt be surprised if this was south african.. my old man used to do it all the time as a kid, not specifically GW's but a fair few breeds he's caught like that. Sharks apart from 1 breed I think, can not bite their own tails so the trick is to walk up behind them grab them by the tail pinch it between your knees so it cant roll out or thrash out then waddle backwards to dry land.

anyone ever see that other free diver that was playing with the two 4 - 5 m whites like 2 years ago?

C'mon, we all know its just Chuck Norris sneaking off for a quiet holiday away from the publicity and limelight.

Relieved to know that every GW within 100 sqkm heading for this feast....prob. all eaten by now. Nothing better than knowing the animals are well fed.
