Hi,

I bought a used SB IDS a few weeks back, and the front lines are stretched. How to I adjust? I downloaded the IDS powerdrive manual, but my lines seem to go directly to the kite without the extra loop as shown on pg. 13.

I have a few different kites (including an IDS 09) and i am not 100% but these don't look right at all. These lines have been modified and are not what would have been on the kite when purchased. It appears to be rather crudely done. Based on this picture i would thoroughly check lines for wear.

Either manually by shortening or lengthening the lines or buy cabrinha line ends that i believe are adjustable (not 100%). Your in NSW so Kitepower (cab dealer) would have them on their website i would suspect. A quick call to them would solve your problems.

In you have the cash consider replacing the lines as snapped lines are no fun at all.

Thanks! You confirmed my suspicions. I'll stop by Kitepower and see it I can get some new line-ends. I'd love to get new line but cash is tight!

Looks like someones put pig tails on the back lines , You need to pull the knots out of those front lines and add some pig tails with the knots in the end ,lines should be the same lenght .

you are missing the correct pigtails the back lines have a sliding adjustment with a loop and the centre lines have a pigtail with a knot, talk to your local cabrinha dealer they should be able to supply the correct pigtails. (try kitepower)
cheers

Yeah your lines are not original, so there could be several issues. We have the Cabrinha IDS style pigtails in stock.
Best thing is to bring the complete bar and lines in to the shop and we will check your line lengths and fit the pigtails at the same time.

General question though that comes from this is:

Where should the bar be when the lines are all at the same length?
Should the bar be hard up on the chicken loop or should it be about mid way?
My front lines stretched on a Cab switchblade3. I got some pigtails & seems fixed, but I would like to know what the right answer is.

Thanks.

the bar should be about 2-3 cm from the bottom of the base of the depower line, when trim strap is set to full power. If the gap is much bigger the kite will over sheet when you pull the bar in.
Your centre lines will stretch with use, so regular tuning is a must.
