Because he wants a wave kite, but doesn't want to pay for one, so he is settling for a 5 line Rebel, that will be crap for waves. So now he is going to phone all North dealers to try and play them against each other, to get the best price on a kite that he doesn't really want. To top it all off, he want's us to do all the work for him....

What happened to your "buy from a shop that's good for kiteboarding in Victoria" sentiment a few threads back?

You have no idea mate. Typical obnoxious sea breeze post. Since when has an informed choice and shopping around been frowned upon.

I am doing research on kites, looking at alternatives and trying to make the best choice i can on a very expensive product for me. I Have tried local shops, they don't have the kite i want. "play them against each other" since when is this a bad thing, it's called competition and if you don't shop around for best prices on gas/insurance/household goods/anything you buy you are plain stupid.

Obnoxious? More factual I would say.....You started a post a couple of days ago asking if a rebel was a good wave kite, when told no, you have still carried it on and then started another post trying to find the cheapest rebel. You could have saved everyones time and effort by just going out and buying the kite you were already going to buy 3 days ago (rebel), seems pretty Gen Y to me, but hey that's just my personal opinion, if that's not too obnoxious.....

I've been looking for a Neo and tried locally first, thus this thread. you aren't a very good detective. I happened to have a friend wanting to sell a Rebel, thus my inquiry as a wave kite. I've also learnt from the helpful people on seabreeze that the Ozone reo and Slingshot Rally are good and i've been actively inquiring into them.
Insightful and helpful comments by other users are what keeps this forum interesting. Why bother posting your negativity

As I said geraldton surf and sail have very good priced Neos.

If you want a specific wave kite then this, plus the others you mentioned will be right. If you want a free ride kite, that can be decent in the surf then the rebel.

Honestly just google the north dealers man, listing shops etc is extremely inefficient for a gen Y (lol) use the search engines man.

Then look at the prices on the net then email a few. Or their is the second d hand option.

But yeh, I can see Paul has his nose a little out of joint, maybe a little too over the top, but hey, this post, well it is kind of stupid really. Well ineffective more to the point. I teach gen Y while yes there is some truth to what has been said, you guys are much more efficient and can 'mine' data across the virtual world really well. So do that I would suggest.

There is also international options if price is your main criteria.

I found what i needed a few replies ago.
No one thought it was funny that New zealand is apparently in Victoria according to North?

Yeah currently searching for a 2012 Neo 10m (they aren't that easy to find) and saw a good used Slingshot Rally that i'm interested in.

The reason that the Neo is a hard find is that its a late season release for Australia. Comes in what North term as the third order period, Order is placed around new years eve, for delivery beginning of march.\
By then most customers have already bought their gear as its too late in the season.

For the same reason North Air frieghted 1/2 of each dealers Evo orders because this kite normally only arrives in the 2nd order period (order september for delivery in December) and customers want their kites earlier.

If its about the wave thing, as a couple of poster have said, the Rebel, fuse and the Evo are ok in waves, but its really down to personal preference, skill level and what works best for your style of riding.

We are a North retailer but in our opinion the Ozone Reo is the best wave kite we have come ridden, but thats just our opinion, and opinions are, after all, just like A$#e holes, every body has one
