Yep I agree 100%
I dont know what he was thinking when he posted the vid, Going by the title maybe he thinks he is Sh!t hot and a power boat should keep clear and give way even when he aims at the boat and makes his kite fall in front of it
Perhaps he is not really a kiter and made the video to make us all look like total tools [}:)]
Stops nothing short of being a total tool, defo a few of these @ my local. He's a learner-sure but I'm thinking this could have been avoided
he hardly charged at the boat!
Must admit pretty kooky to drop the kite there but at least he didnt loop it to keep it out of the water, otherwise he may have been on top of the boat.
His lines are 20m and for a power boat to come within that distance is pretty rude, if he didnt crash I assume the boat would have been at 10m of THE WRONG SIDE OF HIM. Not to mention the speed he was travelling. I would be pissed, but hey its only a cabrihna.
Come'n guys, the power boat should point straight upwind because it's a motor boat while the kiter can only go downwind in emergency.
Sometimes we forget the basic rules of boating ...
The kiter turns around to go closer to the boat - he even says so on the clip.
He heads downwind in an effort to get closer to the boat. The boat doesnt appear to change heading at all. The kiter then stuffs up and crashes and doesnt keep his kite up (probably pulling hard on one side of the bar - crashes hard)
Another kiter showing off giving us all a bad name. Not to mention the fact that in one of his other videos he kites in relective aviator sunglasses and a baseball cap on backwards - enough said.
He deserves a ripped kite. Stupid.
Looks like the boat was not in the wrong.
At travelling more than 8kts the boat is required to keep 15 Meters away from any other vessel. He also has to give way to the kiter because it is a sailing vessel.
The kiter has the right of way, but he is also required to maintain his track and speed so that the other vessel may avoid him. This he deliberately failed to do, so the kiter caused the accident.
What a muppet! I can't believe he also tried to get the guys on the boat to grab it! Like they owe him any favours - he can think long and hard about his behaviour on the swim in :)
What a dropkick. Absolute kook in all forms. Cab, talking to himself, sh?t kiter, steering toward collission course with a boat, crashing infront of boat..... If only the boat went over the kook instead of his kite.
This guy would be right at home with all the other window lickers at shearwater on any given Sunday!
Can't blame the boat. Boats don't stop instantly.
Can't blame the kiter either. Seems no different to every other cabrinha rider I've seen.
Love how the video description blames it on the boat.
