Kite boarding in Byron Bay

Hi all,

I'm still a relative noob and am staying in Byron bay for the rest of this week. I travelled up and down the coast today from Byron to Ballina looking for any other kiters and / or somewhere calm to have a hit. I didn't see any kites or anywhere really that a newby could go out safely. Any suggestions as to where I could have a go around here would be a great help.

This is probably the reason you didn't see any kites out.



There's heaps of info on seabreeze about Byron.

Use the search function and you'll find plenty.

Remember that kiting is a WIND sport, not a BREEZE sport, so find something else to do until it hits 15 knots. There'll be too many surfers/swimmers etc in the water until then.

15 knots is fine, sure you don't have too much trim pulled on to get that beautiful stance ? big dave :-)

Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully the wind will pick up before I leave here and I can get a chance to play. Might have to focus on working on the tan in the mean time :)
