I sk8ted a lot a long time ago and am sooo temted to buy one of those longboard street cruisers to use with my 2m foil. Anyone tried it or doing it, is there any areas large enough around Perth to get a good run, or is landboarding the way to go.
hey
I live north of the river and ive had ago with the 2m and sk8 board, at ocean reef carpark, but the gravel wasnt that smooth so its not the best place to go, but it was great fun.

Good on ya for having a go sam, seems like the right sort of spot in Perth probably doesnt exsist.
Goon Dog. Are you speaking from experiance maybe .
I've kited on my regular skateboard with my 8m after a session once at the now forbidden woodies car park. Also have done it on a tennis curt when I was younger on trainer kites. Bit of fun, not much power in the kite, go upwind really easy. Can be dangerous if your a kook.
i know somewhere where you could have a really smooth surface, loads of wind and no powerlines or bystanders...the abandoned runway at the end of the domestic airport...or register your kite at jandakot as an aircraft and just say you only know how to taxi
I gave it a go last winter in the Hillarys carpark during a front(carpark was empty) on a 2m trainer kite with a freebord. The wind was SW I think and around 30 knots or so, worked well but it was very gusty, had to keep an eye on the kite all the time or it would fall out of the sky in the lulls. They also do it in the snapshot dvd with a standard skatey on normal kites,
Thanks
Matt

yer hillarys boat harbours good and they resurfaded some of the road and theres random curbs u can lauch of!!!!!!!
i tried it with a 3.5 foil with a straped sk8board on some netball courts and it is awesome, but dnt fall off
Heaps good fun but serious when ya fall off. Gotto have gloves and knee pads. Also borrow someone elses kite cause concrete will destroy your kite in 1 afternoon.
These guys make some sweet longboards if your thinking of getting one, www.landyachtz.com ,
Thanks
Matt
Attadale foreshore, light N, 3m trainer with short lines and roller blades is fun, but it gets fast quick.

The best landboard to use with a kite is a freebord. www.freebord.com you can edge slide and spin. In Townsville we go to the Cowboys football stadium carpark, its a nice suface and huge. 3 or 2m trainer is good.
well i got two things to say hear, first is that, there is a park in leeming wich would be great for it, www.google.com:443/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode&q=2+mellor+court,+leeming,+perth,+WA&sll=-31.924074,115.91223&sspn=0.743636,1.2854&ie=UTF8&ll=-32.076875,115.878848&spn=0.0029,0.005021&t=k&z=18&om=1 and also i read that some of you guys are interested in the freebords, and i got one up for sale, cheep judging its brand new and that their like 395 buks, www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Classifieds/Gear/2007-Freebord-85Cm.aspx?id=yy2c
