G'day Guys,
I'm trying to kiteloop the kite backwards and I go forward while hooked in (don't know if there is a name for it) but I usually get pulled towards kite and end up under-rotating and crashing.
Anyone out there with any advise? What should I be doing? I think I should be trying to jump to gain more height and start the forward rotation, then send the kite back into kiteloop, but as yet I stop my rotation and crash!! I dunno but I think I've tried different ways, but they always end up the same.

ps I can do normal hooked in backloop kiteloops, some slow and some fast, to toeside or heelside landings!!
its a hard trick because the kite is pulling one way and your trying to spin the other way..
so i assume you wanna do a front roll.. hooked in.. with a kiteloop?
Maby try initaiting the roll before the kite has too much pull.

Rebel, yep hooked in front roll with kiteloop! I have actually done one but I had no idea how or what happened and wondered if keeping the kite high or low is better?????? I'll try the roll first, then when I see the water I'll pull like fu#k. Still think I'm gunna eat ****, oh well nothing ventured, nothing gained!!!!!!!
Next night kite I'm gunna do it, and all it takes is a few Heinekens, thanks Hedgies.

Front roll kite loop is my favorite, but I do it looping the kite in direction of rotation, so it is more of a down loop...but feels pretty powered once you get some wind.
If you want to do a front roll loop with a proper kite loop, I would think that you would need to do it unhooked by initiating the loop early and then spinning while it is pulling......too hard for me. Surely one of the decent kiters like monkey man, Damo, or other squggly master can explain in better detail.

to do one proper unhook first then begin the kiteloop, as u feel it really starting to pull in the begining of the loop u have to throw urself over ur front shoulder like crazy to get the momentum to get around. it feels wierd at first cause the kites loopin the opp but u get used to it.
a proper hooked in kiteloop is nuts because u generally need to pull a massive kiteloop to get the height required to chuck the front roll as the kite is loopin. look at rubens vids cause he is prob the only one doin em.

The way I learned to do them is to kiteloop unhooked first in lighter conditions. You need to be ridin at a decent spead and pop real hard, the kiteloop should give you alot of hight and the rotation does feel a bit wierd, but as long as you can throw down a really good front roll and kiteloop seperately then you should be able to combine the two.
When you got that dialled then try them a bit more powered.
Hooked in is actually harder if you want a proper Lenten style frontloop kiteloop.
You can start with the front loop downloop which gives you confidence in looping the kite.
When you go for the real deal I think the one thing that you need to be able to do really well is correct your body rotation. WHat I mean is that when you go into a front or back roll and you over or under rotate, you need to be able to correct your body for the landing.
If you can't do that then don't try these types of loops, they are much harder than normal jump kiteloop and they will punish you if you get them wrong.
The main reason for re correcting you body is that you then know where the kite is and you don't make loop worse if it goes wrong.

i think the key is to get your front roll rotation going before the kite loops past 1. So basically you already spinning when it hits the power
what oceaneer said ^^^i think its important to get the front roll going before too much power kicks in from the kite loop. also maybe try it with a nose grab as this can help you keep the rotation going when the kite loop kicks in.

I some how figured that I needed to start the front roll first but just couldn't finish it off properly. Stuff like this takes me a while to figure out, I'm no spring chicken anymore and the big old body doesn't take the abuse like it used too (and that goes for the Heinekins too). One prang and I'm crying like a pussy. Next session I'm gunna try again!!

ps Rapid Creek is the best, I wish the wet was back, 27degrees this time of year is just too damn cold brrrrrrrrrr!!
If you can do a big powered front roll with plenty of height from the water, and can do a kiteloop (from say 6 o'clock up and over 12/11 o'clock) you should be able to combine.
Lock your edge in hard and initiate the loop from 6, as the kite hits 12/11 o'clock, you should feel some good pull. Pop hard from this and look toward your back shoulder (Across your chest) this will start your roll forward. you should be rolling forward as the kite loops up and over past 12/11 o'clock, finishing your spin as the kite "catches" you (5/4 o'clock) as it moves back to the top of the window. spotting the landing will slow your rotation.
Much easier to do unhooked as you can lay it out a little more and wont feel so...tangly?

if the end is the problem, then push the legs out and slow the rotation if over rotating. If under rotating then suck the legs in. Just dont suck the legs into too much cause it doesnt look good. People will mistake for a nappy rider :P
