Hello everyone.
Laurie has always advised not to post on SB when you are emotional, upset or angry. Generally speaking it's very good advice.
Right now however I'm very angry and pissed off and I am going to ignore Laurie's good advice. I am directing my displeasure (and I use that term very loosely) to the 5 or 6 kiters who were kiting at Cottesloe beach this afternoon at about 2.30pm; most on surfboards, one guy flying a North Rebel or Vegas...if you are reading this, you will know who you are.
These guys and one lovely young girl were kiting around the groyne & directly in front of the Cottesloe Surf Club. Whilst doing a downwinder with a couple of mates this afternoon, we came across these guys & girl together we "directed" them to not kite in/near/through Cottesloe as it's a swimming beach. They then commenced kiting in the shore break as they headed north from Cottesloe and it appeared they kited through the flagged area in front of North Cottesloe SLSC.
I think the kiters concerned were kiters travelling from overseas and may not have been aware of the appropriate rules re: Cottesloe. If that is the case, please take the message from today and don't ever do it again.
Cottesloe Beach is for want of better words, a no go zone for kiters. DO NOT KITE AT COTTESLOE BEACH. Do not kite in/through flagged areas on WA beaches.
Cottesloe is one of Perth's premier beaches. It has an international reputation as Perth's best beach. We do not want or need kiters stuffing things up at Cottesloe.
We welcome kiters from around the world to share in our magnificent beaches and reliable winds over the summer months. I'm pretty sure UK/European kiters wouldn't want Australian kiters stuffing things up at their beaches - we expect all kiters to find out the local do's and don'ts when they kite at WA beaches.
Show our beaches the respect they deserve and all will be well.
Rant over.

Good on ya Juddy.
Here is something to cheer us up..............I was looking for something on Youtube and came across this..........and am rocking to it while I reminisce about today's great session..........."young, loud and stupid."
If you did something like this at a euro popular beach, someone in a dark BMW or Mercedes would proobly rock up, smack you in the head and boot you in the boot of their car! but aussies we just ban everyone from having fun cause of some tourist. go figure??
