Sure I've seen it mentioned on here before, (not much coming up in search) anyone got any good info on kite trips to lord Howe?, Best time of year, conditions, accommodation etc
Just go back half a dozen pages mate, Davo62 has had some great posts in this section recently, he kites and lives there.
Looks and sounds like one of the best kiting destinations in the world, right here in our own backyard!!
In the process of booking for this time next year.....
Hi Guys,
I'm here on Lord Howe right now!
its the most magic place i've been, in terms of wind...Have you seen the graphs, this weeks cranking! I've been here for a week, 2 days without wind. I was glad to have the days off to go fishing and dining at the amazing restaurants.
I have a Kite-tour guide- Dave Gardiner, total legend and the best way to navigate around the island as a kiter, to get the most out of it.
Look at the facebook group--- updated daily with info: www.facebook.com/groups/LHIKiteboarding/
Check out some pics below, taken in the last few days..I'm also making a website for Dave, its work in progress and is being updated this week. Check it out here: lordhowekitesurf.com/

ps, Dave and his wife Glenys have a restaurant and are amazing chefs, a must visit for locally caught Kingfish.

Those photos are amazing! The kiting looks good too ;)
I was trying to get there this year but went to Maui instead and headed to Mexico next month. Next winter it is definitely in the cards and will go alone if I can't convince my wife to go. The island looks stunning. And I could eat that fish all day every day while I was there.
We're going up week after next. What size kites have you been using? Have you been able to get out in the waves?
5 out of 7 days it was windy enough to kite? is it off season? theres plenty of places where you get 3 months of 20+knotts every day with maybe 1 or 2 of those days no wind due to freak rain or something. hardly the best kite spot in the world. if its off season thats pretty good tho.
any cheap accomodation on the island like less then 20$ a night? im trying to find a cheap island to live for a season that doesnt involve me going to se asia i want somewhere further away from the riff raff so i have looked at lord howe previously but wrote it off as to expensive to live without working for 3 months
The deal is to mail your things there. Reasonable, just have to plan ahead. The bag limit does suck a bit, but it looks way worth it. Damn, I want to go now. LHI has been on my radar for a while, seen a number of vids, photos, reviews etc. Really ticks all the boxes for me...
There are ways to get extra bag allowances for the plane. You can also send gear over on the ship. Saying that when I went in January though I managed to get a 9m, 17m and a TT on the plane. A incredible spot and so close to the east coast! I loved it, and I had over 15 knots for most of the trip.
Great photos! Seen loads of the lagoon, but few waves. So you were warm enough with just a springy? And, are wearing booties for the reef out the back, or getting out through the lagoon at low tide?
