Caught this on the tele tonight.
I think to claim a world record it now has to be in a certain depth of water.
Never been to Sandy point, but there is a good chance the windward hull/float in in very shallow water.
But this is a really great achievement considering I think they are achieving these speeds in sub 20knts or close to it.http://www.macquarie.com.au/speedsailing.htm

I have a feeling that that is file footage of an earlier day as I was there yesterday and don't recall a kite anywhere.

Kite surfing is way more sailing than that!

Yep. That was definitely NOT footage from yesterday. There was more wind, the sun was almost setting and there were no kite surfers for miles...........
