QUICK EDIT!!!!!

all you metal head kiters out there post ur favorite vids and songs!!!! keen to see what we listen too..

cheers merman

heya peoples... ive been totally addicted to Opeth since i saw them live at the Big Top in Sydney last September and a couple years beyond.

this is not everyone's cup of tea,

Opeth are the kings of Swedish death metal atm, dont let that scare you tho, they are very folky, and 50% of theyre work is acoustic with clear vocals.

very freeken cool stuff if your into old school Zeppelin, Sabbath etc etc, but love abit of metal too.

heres some samples.

and theyre latest stuff..

and the next song that follows on

ok i know this is freeken outa place but i have to share the goodness.

enjoy or hate..

Hey merman, I've seen Opeth three times in Perth now, a big fan of all their albums.

Have you listened to any Dark Tranquility, In Flames, Arch Enemy or Children of Bodom? Those Scandanavians sure know how to rip. I've finally been able to see all of them live over the last year.

On a more proggy note Symphony X is one of my faves. Check out their album V.

I can't post any youtubes at work, but when I get home I'll have to put up a clip of Angela from Arch Enemy. A buxom swedish blonde thats can do the death metal vocals as good as any guy!

Arch Enemy are awesome, i got a bit of a strange taste in music, all metal, not a fan of death and black, but thrash, american, bit of glam.

Main favs are lamb of god, kill switch engage, i like a bit of NU but most metal head thinks nu is gay :P

But im totally obsessed with korn :D got all the cd's plus the rare american ones like live chopped n unglused live and un screwed, MTV unplugged.

Starting collecting vynal albums and singles of theirs, and got a signed cd cover and 1.5m by 2.08m ex unused tour poster in the mail.

oh and a few of the korn dvds lol.

Fav song is ****got (forums wont let me say **** got) (forum wont let me say F A G G O T x2)

Others to note mirisma by the black dahlia murder

On Dark Tranquility concert I've managed to get my self on the stage and jump on crowd (Stage diving)
In Flames are coming again in 2nd of march (sound wave)
Arch Enemy are coming to Perth every fortnight and they are supporting almost every band, (Wiggles and Arch Enemy)
I've uploaded my crowd surfing photos here before but I do it again cuz I'm proud of them:

If your into black metal it doesn't get better than Immortal, they're sick!

Been listening to Orphaned Land of late.. Israeli metal.. bit different..

It's pretty disappointing In Flames arn't headlining Soundwave.. they go from headlining Wacken to a ****ty afternoon spot in Aus ;.. though their new albums arn't the best.......

I've seen them live 2 months ago.
Sound quality was F*$#ed up.
Worst crowd ever, all the homeless bogans were there and they were mostly armed (knives).

BUT the concert was awesome.

I don't agree.
Try "Even Fall" or "Samael" or "Rotten Christ" or "Grave Worm" or "Alastis" or... to see that there are so many unknown underground bands witch working so much better that famous bands.

Shweeeet!! thanks for the reply guys....

I was soo expecting to be poo poo,d on this one.

about to go OS on a work trip and will be taking a good look at all your recommendations. btw metal helps me work more efficiently (sounds crazy but it totally works)

most of the stuff you guys have suggested i listen too, my range of metal/hard rock is pretty vast theres so much goodness out there its mind blowing... and my collection is growing every day. not enough time and too much music, i love it

Metal is so misunderstood by the mainstream. I believe theres a metal band out there that will suit anyone. Thats how diverse i feel it is.

I,ll post some more fav vids later, keep em comen...

ROCK ON!!!!!

nice crowd surfing pics man..

my claim to fame on the crowd surfing front wuz crowd surfing at a Rollins Band concert at Salinas Coogee Sydney in the late 90,s. It wuz a ****en brutal concert, i totaly loved it. This was back in the day when wearing high top military style boots was cool... i was tossed around so violently that i was doen the fullon washing machine kicking and ... punching heads.

At one stage the crowd was so tight that i stopped ontop of everyone for what seemed like an eternity (probably 30 seconds tops) and i was probably 4 meters from the man himself doen the fullon power stance screaming out the lyrics... i was defiantly in the presents of someone great!!!!!

untill..... the bouncers dragged me over the front metal railing mashing my head.. and picking me up with both fists saying dont do it again :P

So... i did it 3 more times that night... i didnt give sheit i wuz young and indestructible....

Great times Good memories...

I'm an industrial slave so most of the stuff I'm sending got some industrial roots in it, but it's good to see that you are still open minded about it!

They played here about a year ago. They were supporting Slayer when they came to Perth for the very first time. I had a little listen to their stuff before the concert but didnt really get into it.

Another fave metal band is Testament. Their albums Low and Demonic are both top notch, well worth a listen.

The album Slaughter of the Soul by At Gates is cranking too.

I'll have to mention Meshuggah too. Saw them a few months ago
