Bar is the same stupid design as it was last year;
The line that I'm pointing at is a 2mm line which suppose to handle all your body weight + board + harness + kick from the kite for a jump.
1- 2mm Line will snap
2- You will go for warranty, they will tell you that you're to heavy (85kg) for your 12m kite.
3- You'll pay $30/week to replace the line once a week or you can "FIX THE PROBLEM" your self by replacing that line with a stronger line
4- Next year they'll release the same stupid thing which means; "we don't give a sh!t about our customers and we don't even bother to test the stupid bar before we sell it"
I'm done with Nasih. I've received a lot of good advises from kiters in this forum and I felt like I owe you guys so here is my pay back.
Trent i know multiple ppl who ride naish including my 105kg partner and when its windy he rides my 9m cult (i cant say it works for me cause the fact im 55kg kinda doesnt add to my argument) and has tried the 9m bolt in windy conditions and its all been fine...
i don't think windgenuity would have said it was your weight through normal usage and if it happened to multiple ppl it would have been mentioned by lots of ppl here, which i have not seen, and they would have changed it.
i would say naish has one of the better quality lines after seeing what happens with some of the other big brands. change brands to cabrinah and see how u go with pulleys and lines. any decent kite shop will have it sorted for you. i have a couple 2010 naish kites and the lines are still perfect after heavy use
anyone who's been through anything knows naish is nothing. its a hard think to say cause there'e wierd seppos trying to say otherwise but they've not done a thing for a year. no way brands like north and naish should be able to peddle **** like they're trying to now. I don't care cause i wont buy it- your thoughts?
I'm disappointed the bar hasn't changed this season. The trim line doesn't last very long and I'm also not happy with the current safety system...when the forward line connected to my safety snapped I found myself in a very uncomfortable position when I had an out of control powered kite that I couldn't release because I had others downwind of me. Design needs to be improved.
only problem with the bar is that they need to change the angle of the cleet for easier sheeting of the depower ( pulling on the depower for unhooked riding takes me a couple goes, but im a bit slow..)
other than that, love '10 models so '11 can only be better
i agree i have been through 1 trim line as well and i am used to the cleat now, overall i think its one of the simpler and better designed systems and not bulky.
great- that was one of the issues I had with last years kite, the safety and the depower getting tangled....have to question why people come on here with very few posts and bleat about a brands unreliability- especially Naish, even though their move to Sigma has been unsuccessful imo they have always produced quality gear that is strong and robust.
I have a Helix 2010 12m and my center line couldn't handle the weight and I had to replace it with a thicker line.
Airush have the same center line too.
Main reason I didn't complain till now is because the resellers are attacking the users here and accusing us for trolling. I'm just a user, I've been with Naish since 2006, I'm happy with their kites but I always had issues with Naish bars.
(Note: Torch is a 5 liner and your load will divide into 3 center lines)
i just dont see the point of systems like that, much simpler and cleaner just having the lines end near the CL line. Kite feels better, lot simpler replacing broken lines as you dont need to buy brand specific kits or get lines cut to length, and safer as mentioned above with when the centre line snaps ur only attached to your two back lines or a 5th and two backs if your on a torch, where as if something snaps on a bar set up in the LF or Slingy method when one snaps you still have a front line attached and can use that to kill the power and bring your kite down.
another thing i noticed with this system is:
it makes the kite turn faster (**** for unhooking)
it makes you lose feel of the kite when unhooked (also **** for unhooking).
^not just referring to naish but to every brand which uses that y split front line system.
