Has anyone else encountered large sharks out near the bombies in Byron? I went past a large fin at close range 2 days ago and having flicked through a few books I'm certain it was a great white. Last time I was there one of the kiters saw a decent sized tiger shark near the wreck too.

Lots around. All dive schools were cancelled 2 weeks ago with a 3-4m white hanging around. Tiss the season to be jolly for the sharks. Bait schools now; and there will be another wave with bulls in the mix, when the rain hits and the mullet run early next year.

Non wonder you see a shark on every run, you ride with your pooch on the front.

mate rode over one on xmas, I didnt belive him, next day at clarks beach, there it was cruising along the bottom 40m of the beach in the waves. 2.5m tiger I think...

It was between swimmers and the beach. Should have raised the alarm, that way we would have had the water to ourselves
