So, you are the one in NO kiting area?

That's South Perth, right? Correct me if I'm wrong but this once again is a NO go.

Any takers? Waksa?

there is nothing to say it is a no go area , people just think it's banned.

Why not, at least before they develop the whole area:)

Let's do it.

Well can't say I enjoyed today. It was just intense. 4m wind driven swell, 20 to 33 in gusts, hard to set trim, so just depowered totally on the 9m Vegas. Was tricky controlling speed on and off the waves. But got out of water just before a mother of all squals came through.

Hey that's winter kiting for ya.

hey. ive just moved to perth, looked around for kiters today, didnt find any, v strong wind about, loved to have got my 7m out. hoping to get in the water this week anytime, looking for some riding buddys and places to ride, so if anyone wants to join me n show me around thatll be great. thanks

he man. reason you couldnt find anyone is probably because most people tend to just go out in summer. You'll find the beaches will be pretty crowded with kiters in summer! much safer more consistent winds from november through to about begin april. However winter brings in some crazy storms as you noticed... Not for the beginners/intermediates though! like me unfortunately...

All I know is that Melville is closed for kiting through winter. Total no go!
