Benji,
1. Rockingham is ok, a small coastal town, not that much to it. People in Perth take the piss, but it's fine.
2. Rocko is about 30mins from Freo on the coast road. Freo is about 20-30 mins from Perth City, depending on traffic. Pretty sure you can take the freeway between Perth City and Rocko, I imagine it's about a 40min drive, but I'v never done it. In fact, it might be that the freeway hits the coast below Rocko, not 100% sure. That's real helpful, I know.
3. I'm sure you could wake board somewhere in the area, or maybe inland at Mandurah, not too much further south.
4. Conditions at Safety Bay are cross shore, the main kite spot is behind a sand bar and then an island, so up close to that it's dead flat, and appropriately crowded. Moving down wind the wole bay stays semi flat because of the islands off shore and there's tons of room. It's a fun spot for sure.

Ahhh Rockingham (Swingingpig) - Mullets, Flanno shirts, Winny reds, Commodores etc.

Question - What do Rocky girls use for protection when having sex?

Answer - Bus shelters.

Actually as far as kiting goes it's a pretty good spot.

yeah Rocko is pretty sweet. Shoalwater bay, is flat water and perfect for beginers and those not yet very confident. Safety bay also has flat water, but can get quite busy, and has quite a few winsurfers to share the spot with. There is also less room than around the corner at shoalwater. Safety bay is for confident and proficient riders. Secret harbour is only 10 minutes south and is a beachy with some good surf.
Bonneys waterski park is about 15m inland of rockingham. There are 5 man made lakes there, with plenty of boats that own leases for the lakes. You can pay for rides behind the school boat there. The swan river is also ok for wakeboarding. takes 30min to get there, and the train drops you right near to where you ride.

rocko is like 15 20 mins from freo which has pretty decent night life.. or about 20 - 30 from perth itself wich is pretty good.. got a train line running between the two so gettin around isnt hard.. dont think youl find "decent"girls in rocko tho haha only things ive seen down there are bogans and seedy old ladies.

You have the wrong Rockingham
No green island anywhere near here, and the seabreeze takes all the smelly stuff further south.
Where in Rockingham are you teaching?

Perth has plenty of gorgeous women. They always have to dress skimpy for the weather, so they keep their rigs in good nick.

Bogans - Chiggas, Chavs, Scallies, you know, dead sh!ts with mullets, lowered cars, wide tires and tank tops.

Flame suit on? Check!

Hobart originally.
Lived in Perth (Freo) Jan 1999 - June 06.
Been in Manchester Uk since then. Chicks make you do crazy stuff, but heading back to Perth late Octber and I'm frothing for it.

You'll find the surrounding areas better than Perth city itself - Freo, Cottesloe, South Perth, Subiaco, Leederville, Claremont etc. If you want doof doff night clubs - Northbridge, on the edge of the city.

Benji,

Siwalker is the only local I recognise here, the rest are blow in's who always have a comment and think they now everything about everywhere.

After 6 months working for Jason and Sonya you will know 100 times more than any of them about Safety Bay.

Mate just count the days and be assured everything will be fine. Better off PM WOK for more accurate feedback

Bogan's LOLOLOLOLOL, I love how you metrosexuals refer to Rocko as Bogan's.

The C shape sand bar is the Pond at Saftey Bay

Rockingham is a ok, it nice a central to Woodies Flat and the waves of metro South. It has all you need, stay clear of Perth its like any city traffic sucks, parkings a bitch, the kiting is ordinary, the waves are crapy on the city beaches and i've noticed this Winter the wind is way more up & down in Perth.
