It's great to see a vid with no driving a car section at the beginning.
Great riding too.

0.31 - now what's that everyone always says about right of way on the wave? Oh - yeh closest to the break.. that would mean the kid on the booger had ROW but nearly got his head removed instead. Board rider in the water (regardless of booger/surfboard/paddler) always has ROW.

But then locals know you wouldn't be kiting right next to the Flozzer groin (due to grommies/swimmers sheltering from the breeze) unless you were showing off for

Great riding?? Pffft - more one hit wonders in that (yet again BWS pimp-fest) than the last Eurovision contest.

Now before all you BWS hussies get all steamed up - I'm not sayin for a sec that Ryland isn't a great rider.. but I'm not seeing anything in that vid other than much edited go for one posey move, edit, repeat, nonsense.

Flame on pimp-hooers.

I can honestly say that I've never given right of way to a booger and I never will

I have been to many parts of Western Australia surfing and kiting and WA is much better than that.
The title of the thread should be "Ryland single turn on Perth junk" (with a bridal kite)....

NA, before that rule, the first rule is - the person on the wave first has ROW and Ryland is clearly on the wave first. The booger didnt even look or have ANY awareness, as usual.

Anyways, that was simply the common occurence where 2 waves meet at the close-out, 2 people riding each wave towards one other - someone usually has to pull out. Happens all the time, no train smash. But really the booger should have pulled out.

Forget closest to the peak, etc. First to stand up has right of way

Ryland shreds and makes the most out of the local Perth conditions.

Give credit where it is due.

Maybe the video doesn't show it but he consistently does unreal strapless moves on the small punchy closeout semi-shories in Perth and lands most of them.

He often pulls a 2nd sick move and sometimes another again on a what can only be described as a small desperate looking wave breaking very close to the shoreline.

"Dude, I need to post another vid of myself on the local forum ...very, very soon."

"Wow, you are so totally photogenic in the waves, man."

"Dude, it's just another freakin ad, ok. I have to do it for my damn sponsor."

"Yeah right man. Who's your sponsor again?"

"It's that lame kite company, dude. I hate those stupid kites."

"Man, I've got a killer idea for your next vid."

"What is it, dude?"

"Don't show any of the kite in the vid, man."

"None of it? Wow dude."

"Nothing man. Not even a pigtail."

"That's brilliant dude."

"And let's be honest, man. When was the last time you actually saw a flying kite in a wave vid?"

"Dude, you are a genius."

Personally anybody surfing or boogie boarding in anything over 12 knots has to get their mind read, should take up another sport- like kite surfing.

Sad!

But more seriously, to be fair, the kitesurfer was clearly on the wave well before the booger.

In Perth, there is no "peak".

Whilst I accept kiters should tend to stay away from surfers (and even pretend surfers on lids), wtf was the booger thinking taking off with a kiter already on the wave?

Looks pretty obvious to me that they both knew what they were doing and that the only ones concerned at all are the ones commenting here.
Ryland stalled his turn slightly to stay out in front and the booger dug in to turn upwind. All sweet.

For my 2c booger is clearly in the breaking section, show pony being towed from a non-breaking sect straight into the path of of another water user is 100% in the wrong. Take at look at Gstar's still (Nah G-man - I'm all into Pro-rider-lovin these days and hope to join the harem)

Anybody who uses Flozzer knows doing that right next to the groin (where the mums/kids/desperate surfers get a small slice of beach sheltered from the breeze) is pulling a low act. Amazing what folks will do if the camera is on - even if the surf is absolute grovel sh!te.

No wonder we all got the flick from the exact spot Ryland is snaking the booger at, when that kind pizz poor attitude/moove is condoned and congratulated. Embarrassing. Laff it up @rse clowns - and we will be driving a few hours to out of the metro just get a kite soon.

BTW, that tired old attitude of boogers don't have any rights is soooo lame. Truly.

Personally I don't give a fig if it's a booger, surfer, swimmer - whatever. They all get ROW in my book. I can change direction pizz easily - not so for them. Who am I to assume my recreation is superior or more worthy, therefore put them into a face-meets-board-at-velocity- situation.

Milking that sh!tty little wave at the expense of the other water user is an embarrassment for someone who probably self-rates as a 'waterman' IMO. Posting it on a webby is hilarious.. only not.

BTW - I have marveled at the self promotion and self lovin of some of the truly average pimp vids posted by BWS etc under the guise of 'sharing' but this is bloody ordinary footage.

We don't really need to see everything you shoot. Got it.

Save up the good stuff and show when you've got it. Oh no, that's right - you wanna charge for that stuff (but are happy to enjoy free music and free advertisment on sites like this). Ba ha ha ha.

Anyhoo - ciao and I'll leave it to the butt-monkeys who line up to fawn at feet to wrap up this thread.

EDIT: C'mon now Puppet - open the other eye (andwho's kites are you selling now?)

Come guys, it's simple!

If you were flying BWS kites and they were your preffred kites, you would be loving the vid.

Chill out it's all good. Pimp is good, makes the world go round. If you keen buy the kites if your not don't.

I try to avoid surfers and boogie boarders, but only if they are down wind of me, if they not, man on the inside gets the wave. And generally don't hang around afters that anyway. If I came thrOugh consistantly on the inside then yes a surfer should get the ****s.

I surfed for 22 years before kiting, I know were I am coming from.

Chill out boys,

Rich

Nothing to do with whose kites I sell.
But that does raise another issue.
When you fly a kite as responsive as the one Ry's on you can safely go where others dare to tread.
You should ring me to sort a demo some time Funky. Might even make a kiter out of you
