Hi all, Marcus here, I think you all know me already as the guy that does the god awful commentary .
Here is a vid I quickly put together minus the commentry, lol. I shot this footage on the same day as I shot "30+knots @ Caloundra" video, (boy did that one cause a stir, lol) www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=61660
I could have spent a little more time on this video polishing it up but it got to late last night so what you see is what you get, lol. Anyway I hope you enjoy the video, cheers Marcus.

How about showing us some of your dirt bike '2 stroke' vids marcus in the general section. Mike is very smooth but I'm afraid its 4ft at best - not 3m (10ft).

The looped track is to throw off youtube, if I put the whole song on then they may mute my clip, besides I through this one together late last night in a bit of a hurry. The special effects are for the a.d.d people to keep them interested, lots of flashers and bright colours, lol.

Are you sure that isn't Andy Murray the tennis player .I heard that he was a kiter for r and r and was still in Australia .Not a bad effort either for something thrown together overnight .I think classical music is a bit more appropriate for wave riding if you want to be a bit more original

Marcus, your major problem is you're competing with Aussie film makers like Andy Gordon who produce some of the best videos in the world. Add that to the likes of some of Len10's megaloop movies and the stylish moves of Dre hitting kickers and sliders and suddenly anything else becomes a bit ordinary.

This should be your goal

That was epic man...I have never seen a sports video that well done. I am guessing it would have cost big bucks to produce something like that and they must be useing the very latest software....thanks for sharing. I don't know whether I should give up trying to make amater kite vid's after watching that one. Think I'll go watch it again. cya.

I kind of disagree, I like to see videos that have some of the following elements;

A new, unusual spot
Humour
Fun
Unusual/epic conditions
Good and varied riding
Good stoke

I can appreciate that Hadlow video, but I don't think my pulse raised by more than 5 beats. The riding is good but not particularly varied (all the handle passes blend into one for me) and I don't really care how well the video is put together. Some of Len10's amateur video is more exciting than that slick video and they make my heart stop.

The trouble with Hadlow is he's too fluid, it all looks too easy for him. Lenton's videos always look mental.

Anyway, give me a video with something fun and/or exciting. I don't care how well it's put together (well, to a degree!)

Do a search for Andy Gordon and you'll find a host of other films from him with Aaron Hadlow

I wouldn't give up completely, just use it as food for thought.

The only way people truly appreciate bad editing is if there are hectic wipeouts.

Stick with it mate.

The quality was not as good as the Hadlow one but I could not watch the whole thing whereas I am not looking for my three minutes back after watching yours. Did not go much on the effects or the music and agree that classical would be better but the content was good.

You've got to start somewhere!

Hey Marcus,

Dont listen to the muppets bagging your videos mate, they prob would'nt take the time stand on the shore and shoot footage when the winds up!! untill they do they cant say jack shyt!!!. Come up to cotton tree some day when the winds blowing, there's heaps of guys doing pretty cool stuff for you to shoot.

Keep up the good work. i thought the crazy black and white effects stuff was pretty cool.

Thanks for the invite. I have a little bit of video footage from up at cotton tree but it was pritty lite wind at the time so nothing outstanding was happening but the next time it realy blows I'd be more than happy to come up and get some awesome footage.
I bought another camera from Hong Kong this time a waterproof one so hopfully I can get out on the water and follow some great kiters to get some truely awesome footage. Cheers Marcus

keep it up mate, dont worry about the baggers they are just a bunch of try hards until they put up or shut up

No one can make anything as good as Andy Gordon so dont even try just keep posting your own amateur stuff, its way better than half the lame topics getting around here an its always good for a laugh too.
Good work.

Hey thats an outstanding shot of the silhouette kitesurfer and the setting sunset, I am wondering where that was taken, Noosa river mouth I'm guessing?

Hey Marcus thanks for shooting me that day. nice job editing and putting it together. luv ya work. for an impromptu shoot after a long kite (for both of us), that no-one was expecting, plus a short turn over time on the edit- youve done well. To be constructive - IMO the effects are a little heavy. could be more wide/close/wide/close shots. lots of close or wide is harder to watch and gives less perspective.

but more than anything im stoked you were there to capture the action. anyway thanks again and good job.

Come to the Thriller Party on the 27th - beach party and near full moon. Yewww
