hey guys,

Have recently got back from a trip to the simpson and like eyre, befor I left I had a look aroumd to see if it was worth taking the kite. All reports said dont bother inland wind is to gusty and crap. I ignored this and luged just 1 12m up with us. And im bloddy glad I did. After driving most of tge way through yhe desert and crossing heaps of DRY salt lakes we got to poeppels corner and I almkst wet myself with excitment at what lay befor me. A huge salt flat wiyh about 30 cm of water covering it.. O and a steady 18 20 knot wind blowing straiy down the center of the dunes. it was the most brethtaking kite iv had and the wind just didnt stop. If we were not on a time line or I had other kiters with me I could have stayes a week. If anyone is doing a trip to the desert TAKE YOUR KITE. The flats have water in them at the moment and the wind is great not **** like everyone says even with the dunes. I have photos and will post soon

Factoid: The desert lakes are very salty and this can affect spelling abilities quite significantly.

^^^ but that same saltiness also improves floatation which means you can use a smaller kite....

Sorry, had to be done... To read something once again is to reread, or re-read (verb), not re read, which is re refer to something which has been read. Check your literacy before posting

Done it 4 times, you are very lucky to have both wind and water in the desert.
Should send a copy of that for them to put up on the wall at birsdsville pub!

This pic was just south of poppels corner on the way down to the rig road in April 07, no water on this salt pan even though we had to do the bypass track due to flooding at Eyre creek.
