Where ? Woodmans Point Beach one

BLUE 6M EPIC RENEGADE ....complete with EPIC XTEND Bar n lines.

Unlikely to see one of these anyway and if you do see it belongs to Elemental .... we can match the serial number.

RED/ORANGE SWITCH 146 cm KITEBOARD, Older version perfect for teaching with the extra fins heal side.

Our neighbouring school also had 2 boards taken on Saturday, from the beach !

THIS IS SO NOT COOL...... PEOPLE WATCH YOUR GEAR ON THE BEACH

I have been kiting at woodies for 8years I can't believe it has come to this

guys you better do your research or be sure with yourself before doing such accusations. otherwise it's like parking in the disabled bay yourself...
i have never done that.
there's this guy that bought the same car like mine, so get onto him.
my number plates are black - just to make it easier for you.

i have never had gear stolen from off the beach before so I thought it was worth mentioning to avoid others gear being swiped from that location, seeing it got particularly popular last weekend and it may be a new trend.

thats all just trying to help

I've been sitting back reading this forum for a while now and sucking up a lot of useful information.
Over the last couple of months things have started to go down hill real bad.
You guys are pathetic.
Surflily gets on here and posts a warning to other kiters, doing what I believe is a great service, and you guys are up him about parking in disabled parking spots. The connection being?
Grow up!
This forum is being over run with clowns, and if the mods don't step up soon and take control the members that do have good input and give informative answers will go elsewhere.

Rant over.

Hi Krispy,

There has been a bit of clownish behavior of late, but it has been worse in the past. Here's my interpretation of the rabble over the years since I joined - increases in Winter usually so I've tried to draw that in too.

Don't worry, we (the mods) are watching.

Pretty gay looking for a bloke too.

Double negative. Caroline looks so much like a girl that boys who are attracted to boys probably wouldn't be interested...

What do you do in real life when people are jerks? Just ignore what you deem to be stupid/irrelevant information and move on. No point getting upset on the internet, your just giving the trolls what they want.

Well said Spacemonkey but you have to admit that this forum is top heavy with morons who, going by the frequency of their posts, have little or nothing in their lives besides kite boarding and cluttering up this forum with garbage.

It's a pity because I figure that all of the non value added content discourages participation and also makes it unnecessarily tedious when looking for the useful stuff. Oh well, to quote the name of that old song - The Lunatics Have Taken over the Asylum.

I usually get in a bit of trouble for telling them so. Must admit the look on their faces when I do so is gold
Get your point though. I think this was about the 7th post in a row I was reading and it just got the better of me.

Ahhh 2007 - those were the days. The pioneers were still mostly around and posting, SLE kites were getting decent but received a regular bagging, Laurie's business was small enough not to be overly concerned about the rabble and the moderators were similarly relaxed. The only thing missing was Dude and Man. We just had to Steve and Waveslave to amuse us.

That graph looks identical to one I saw from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing the level of kiting popularity over the same time period. Replace 'Rabble' with 'Popularity'

Curiously enough it also appears to be identical to the shape of the trailing edge of the the latest Stabrinha Kite from Stabber Kites Inc.

Leightons a prick of a place for theft. I've had my car broken into 3 times with smashed windows each time.
If you see broken glass in ANY car park for sure the thieves work the area.
I had my car stolen at Scarborough last year while I went for a surf. The thieves watch where you put the keys then go get them... easy as that, AND no the keys are not well hidden put on a wheel arch!!!!

Sorry to hear about your gear man. Straight off the beach hey. I demoed three kites yesterday and dragged all three down the beach and tacked out and straight back. Bloody heavy walk with a board, three kites, three bars, harness and pump. But I'll be stuffed if I will leave anything in the car and if on the beach keep my ground. Funny enough some guy was standing near the kites looking in that direction. So I subtlety came in and said can I help you? He moved on.

Again sorry to here about it. Don't take the guys too seriously they all think they are farqin comedians, but there is some gold among the horse sh1t. Got to admit, the graph was pretty funny. I reckon he's got it wrong with the decreasing rabble.

YES It was the stolen Kite !

And the police finally picked it up yesterday, thankfully it was not the guy who stole it as it took the Police since last Friday to go around there!!!

Most thieves would have got rid of it friday night but this guy new the police were on their way and wanted to somehow reclaim the money he'd had put into getting the kite repaired... the guy that stole it must of had a crack at flying it and it got a bit shredded.

Moral of this story, watch your gear on the beach people.

Take a picture of your serial numbers just incase, it took the manufacturer sometime in locating this for us.

Beware when buying 2nd hand gear - check the sellers details and hold onto this information, its a good start if they actually kite themselves.

I do not know about your insurance, but my kites and gear are insured in the car but not on the beach while in use. I never leave anything at the beach unattended, and only in the trunk of the car out of sight.
All my kite gear is included in my contents insurance without individual listing.
This would not cover commercial use of course, that is a different story.

IM FINDING THIS Rather UNBELIEVABLE!

Since my kite was confiscated of this guy that bought it off someone else....
I have been ringing the police every week trying to get my kite back....
Every time they tell me someone will get back to you and they never do...
so.... I ring them the following week and so on

Yesterday I spoke to a female officer who I connected with and she agreed this system was really really ****e and good luck in getting it back, they can not give it to me till the investigation is over and if its taken to court then this could be over a year!!! ONE YEAR OR LONGER!!! ?????

I should have listened to you all that told me not to involve the police :(

Like they say in India .... " what a fooking Joke "

Hmm thats actually crap your just getting the pubic service run around, if you can prove ownership of the kite and, ownership is not disputed then they only need to photograph the evidence and that is sufficient for production in court along with your statement etc, so i would suggest speaking with their supervisor outlining these points and demand the return of the gear, if you mention a written complaint they will get off their ass and do something, sorry its just the way most cops are.

Take it up a rung or two at the cop station, speak with someone further up the food chain. The kite is yours isn't it? You have proven that the kite is yours the police cannot hold onto it indefinitely, they just need a photo of it at most.
Insist on getting your property back.
