Its the 'Kite Surf SUP' Super Jet Kayak.

Will be on offer for rescue duties at any WAKSA event its needed.
Probably be looking for drivers . Might have to set up a wait list
Check it at Kitestock - we might even let you have a spin.

Weight is too far to back, hence the bouncing action.

Can hear the screams of back pain in a very short time.

excellent idea puppet

I seen a couple of years ago that coffs habour life saving club were trialling a similar thing.

The moment I seen it I new it would be great to have sitting on the shore for those offshore days just in case sh!t happens but usually don't

would allow to get on the water more I reckon

How heavy is it, could one person drag it into the water?

Hey puppet, that machine is classic, So much better than A H ardly D rivable motorbike. What engine, a rotary? what capacity, how heavy? Looks just big enough to rescue a kite and board on and float the rider. Did you buy it or was it a demo at the boat show.

With the season we have had so far, why not.... I could use it for drop-net crabbing in the mandurah estruary too. Does it have a death-leash?

The ultimate goatboat.

17K for a good jetski, good question, puppet how much? you sit a lot lower so you wouldnt get tipped sideways, when rescuing someone. A decent Cheaper??? rescue craft.

Be great for vids on flattish water if you can steer and accelerate with one hand.

Dont have the tech specs on hand but will post them in a 'gear review' shortly.
They will retail for a bit over $6000.
Matching it to a C4 inflatable rescue sled (awesome little unit) for rescue & teaching.
Not sure yet how it will go in open ocean swell etc but hoping it can run sweep for the BIG downwinder at Kitestock.
Acceleration, steering, on & off is all one hand only. Full joy stick type control.
There is also a stand-up board variation that is purely a fun machine. Direct drive so steering is all board skills.

Total weight is about 80kgs. All at the engine end - front is light as.
Two man job unless you have a set of dolly wheels. We will have a balloon tyre cradle that will also push up onto our trailer or our roof rack.
Once its near waters edge its a very easy one man job to get it out on the water.

We will be installing a stainless steel mesh 'line guard' over the intake port to prevent lines from screwing the impellar. This will probably cost quite a lot of performance but you dont need to do 60kph when ur using it for work.
Might just make it removable for hooning sessions.

As you can guess Im pretty stoked with this new little 'toy'. Oops I mean 'tool'

I agree with Slave..........last thing we need is more noise and stinking crap on the water............lovely.... not. Another step in the direction of ruining your local.

I put them in the same basket as leaf blowers.

As someone with a keen eye for detail pointed out today.
"...see and this is what happens when a goat boat and a jetski have unprotected sex."
Soon to become the most hated water transport at a beach near you!

That is to jet skis what the recumbent bike is to bikes.

I ****ing hate recumbent bikes. Classic example of fixing somethin that ain't broke, or being different for the sake of being different and at the expense of practicality and common sense. They don't do anything to harm me and I'm sure the people on them are having fun, so part of me says good on 'em. But I just can't help but feel an urge to throw a steel bar through their spokes when I see them.

That would be great.
Take all the pressure off kiters who currently hold the 'most hated' crown.
Does the fact that a hell of a lot of beach users hate kiters make the haters right ???

That type of craft might save one of your beaches, think outsied of the circle. ATM you as an IKO instructor can use a Malibu as a rescue craft, I cant paddle harder than someone getting dragged offshore. Rembember the french guy that tried teaching 4 guys at once and one student eventually drowned after his attempted rescue and he went under the boat??? That little lawn blower would be good at woodies beach 3 (the offshore side) to let me actually kitesurf instead of rescuing boards, kites etc. Peace out.

+1. A jetski would be able to travel faster and would have more flexibility for kite retrieval.

I also don't see this working as well as a jetski in heavy chop or waves

awesome

why on earth would you not just use a rubber ducky ( surf club style ) with a 25hp .........

it will be cheaper than that thing
safer than that thing and a jet ski
you can carry gear in a ducky.........
and ......you can actually rescue someone...and heaven forbid provide cpr or any other medical help that may be required.

I cant see a noob being able to drag themselves out of the water onto the back of a jetski if they are injured, or there is any sort of swell or you have boards and kites.

Not to mention the fact that jet ski's weigh a ton and two people would battle to carry a jet ski down to the water whereas two people could easily lift a rubber ducky (only one if its a little yellow bath rubber ducky) with a 50HP to the water in a couple of seconds.

Ha, SUPS, the modern goat-boat

I love when you get a tool who sits 10-15m further out the back and tries to claim every wave. I just sit next to them on my 9 foot mal, out paddle them and out manouvre them. They drop in on you once, then they get pushed off the wave next time. A 9 foot mal will out paddle them due to stroke rate easily.

Funniest thing I ever saw at triggs point was an altercation between a "local" on a goatboat. After a drop in on a local shortboarder, who was also a MMA instructor, the goater poked his board with his paddle and dinged it, the guy on his 6'2 grabbed the paddle and turtled him and proceeded to give him uppercuts underwater for about 30 seconds. Mr goat was fully strapped in and could do nothing..

Needless to say he surfed/goated Mettams from then on.

There are still old school goat boats paddling out in Victoria?
Haven't seen one up here for long, long time.
