The Shinn Piglet prototype was a strapless board that wasn't really intended to be ridden backwards but had channels on the nose so you could control it when riding backwards until you could spin it round.

Its at 2:40 in this video.

An interesting "blast from the past" with a twist, Robo. I will try ducking the front foot straps as you have done to see how the Axis goes. How do you ride the Underground backwards with those huge fins? If you come back to Sydney please look me up for a ride on the Axis and I'd love to try your monster!

I might attack my old Shinn Wave with some mods.

Hey mate,

I don't ride it backwards--heel side one way, toe side the other way. Always. I actually prefer toe side to heel side. I tried riding it "backwards" a couple of times when I first got it and it was so bad i just took the front fins off and put them away.

Might be a while before I get back to the Big Smoke again. Pretty well settled in in The Gero these days. Here's what we have to put up with here this time of year. - and of course I'm working every day! You're always welcome here if you feel like a visit!

Yeah mate, rides awesome. Gonna put another one on the other side next up and see how it goes for toeside! Can't believe the difference the longer, swept and thinner fin makes. compared to the shorter, fat one with the symmetrical foil. Pleasant surprise!

Hi Doctor. I got the Axis Twin Wave from Kitepower in Sydney. I don't think there are any in stock at the moment but give them a call anyway.

Haven't seen any reviews yet. As far as I know I'm the only kiter in OZ with one at this point in time. I'm sure I'm wrong though. I've got a week off soon and hopefully will get some action in the waves. I'll post a humble review soon.

Seems like Axis hasn't updated their webpage either - still 2013 boards...
