In my opinion backhand riding when done properly kiting looks far better than frontside and often feels better to.

Had my sunnies on to, pretty bright out that day, didn't have a leash on em tho.

Also, they aren't booties they are just regular shoes (think i wore them to school that day), booties are for homo's.

p.s. I was riding switch backside in that shot, if you don't know its sick and all the people at my beach do it and its mega technical. Also it's the future.

Sir Rowdy. What is this thing about guys from NSW trying to tell us all how we all should be riding. First we got the how to videos and the lectures and now another guy whining on about whats wrong with kite wave riding. Well we all know its never windy in NSW so you spend a long time staring at the glassy surf thinking about how we should all be doing it.........and then have the time to say it on forums over and over and over again.

Well please refrain because its embarassing.

I can tell you that in WA we dont talk it up, we just do it........ for hours and hours.........day after day ........week after week... and no one gives a flaming ratzarse what you are anyone thinks of whether we are doing it the 'right way'.

In margies for example you should ask the opinion on this subject of the locals [who nearly all ride narrow boards strapped, hooked in and often switch by the way...something to do with the swell size regularly passing 10 feet and the wind 30kts i guess] about east cast 'pros' who arrive smash themselves to bits on their first wave and then dissappear probably to some little onshore slop spot is more to their liking.

With all the practice we get comes a certain amount of natural flow, timing, grace, skill. People incorporate their past skills from freestyle or surfing or windsurfing. They use different boards and different kites, and they have in some case markedly different styles, upwind, downwind, backside, frontside, switch, and some do them all in the same session if not on the same wave....basically whatever turns them on, brings out a smile, gets them in the zone, challenges their abilities, but incorporates their talents....and heres the funny thing you can still see the skill-set whatever style they are using and the good guys....are.....regardless of style..... well....... just good! The main thing that seems to determine being good is lots of practice, having fun, and forgetting what someone else told you looked good or didn't and just finding your own little groove and pursuing it to the enth degree.

So maybe rather than trying to tell us all what to do mate you need to get out a bit more and chill a little.

HAHAHAHAHA, awesome post dude.

When was I telling you how to ride? I told you what looked sh!t, doesn't mean you can't go do it.

I don't live in NSW.

I've been to WA and you guys talk it up just as much as the east coast... don't think your anything different.

What "east coast pros"?.. is there pros in Australia? haha.

I hear you about the different styles and attitudes towards gear, I agree that good guys are definitely "good" at kiting regardless of how they ride on a wave, but... Not everyone has the style to make it watchable.

As I've already said, I'm not telling anyone what to do "mate" I'm just telling you what looks sh!t to me and why. This is a forum, a place for banter and disscussion, topics like this are posted to provoke thought. So I think you are the one that needs to chill out and go do some more kiting........ for hours and hours.........day after day ........week after week... Because obviously the internet has just got to much for you.

p.s.
As I already said I can understand why people want to do certain things like switch frontside riding for the thrill and challenge, thats fine with me, but just don't go acting/claiming like its next level riding. Is that to much to want?

Got Rowdy's back on this one.

If you think edging against the kite and riding out front is riding the wave/ hard to do you are kidding yourself. It's an easy way to get yourself in the "zone" for a photo.

Here's some more twisted-bowel frontside riding. ^^^

A little bit of argy-bargy between forum-members about wavekiting styles is a healthy thing.
It makes you realise just how versatile wavekiting is.

IMO I think its a real weakness and insecurity if all people can do is bag this or that and constantly look at the negatives and not the positives even for conversations sake

Getting beyond upwind downwind roundwind what ever gives you wood and getting back to the thread Kirsty is doing something 95% of the males let alone females doing this sport would be willing to even try, I think thats what the original compliments were aimed at?

Why bag It ? would the knockers avoid an upwind barrell or perfectly peeling wave if they happened to cross one because heaven forbid one of the cool crew on the beach might see it and think their a kook?

You baggers have serious personal isssues maybe insecurities? if all you can ever come up with is negatives as is very apparent with your history of posting

and no I am not remotely upset by your posts or reacting out of anger I just feel sorry for people who are always living in a negative vibe

Join the hate club Bevo it's where the party's at .

I reckon these "always to happy" guys have some real personal problems and insecurities, always bottling up everything negative that they think, never letting it out... most likely that one day they will let it all out and lead a massacre of some type through a shopping centre or commit suicide or something... hahahahaha. Letting my frustrations out about stupid trival crap online insures that I'm a chilled out guy in real life.

But seriously, you are right, it's not good to hate on everything (which I don't) but when people start a thread asking a trivial question like whether she got barrelled, I feel obliged to give my 2 cents, if people add things after that inital point that I disagree with more often than not I'm going to reply with my own thoughts. That's a forum.

Where would the balance be if I got on here (along with everyone else) and said how perfect and magical everything was... I doubt anyone would even come on Seabreeze. People thrive off of the conflict that why they are here (mostly).
You Likers may think I'm a tool on here (which is fine by me I couldn't care less) but the fact is you need me to make you appear nice.
I know tons of people who have exactly the same views as myself, difference is they are to worried about their reputation to say something.

I think it's great that this girl is going well at waveriding and giving it a real crack, but thats not what the post was started about was it, it was about whether she was going to get barrelled or not... If it was a post titled "Do you think it's good this girl is giving kiting a good crack" Of course I would have said, yes of course it is, good on her!!!

not quite sure where half the people on this forum get there interpretation and reading abilities from... never did anyone say dont do that because its not cool bla bla bla..

as far as i saw old mate said he understands why people would ride switch etc and try different things for the sake of a challenge etc, he's just stating that its not good to start claimng thats the future of progression and where al the next level ** is at... its just like the double spin win pull ups in freestyle, they are old and look lame with no style.. and look what happened, people started realising.. now what is hadlow doing? riding with his kite lower, more powered up, grabbing and styling his sh!t out..

same goes with any style whether its board offs waves wat ever, rather make it look and feel good that learn squiqly crap. and do what you want when you want, but if ur bringing coverage to your style make sure u put out the good type not the unprogressive type
