Virtua Kiter Is Here- virtual reality kiting compliments of my helmet cam.

Downwinder Hilites West OZ -Fri 16 march
Kite - Airush 12m DNA (grunt master SLE design - surprisingly capable kite for riders of all standards)
Board - Airush Converse 6'0 (I loooooove this board) Shouldnt jump it but i couldnt resist...
Conditions - 15 - 18 Knots late seabreeze - SSE 15 - 18 knots - nice glassy waves on the inside thanks to the cross off effect.

(as usual youtube bulk video compression takes the quality out of the footage -but you get the idea)

If you like what you see you can get a much bettter quality download from here -

it is a 22 MB file - MUCH better quality - this is limited to 100 downloads only

www.hightail.com/

If you get stuck without wind for a while you can always use this to go "virtual kiting"

nice jobbie.... I like the feel of it.

Amazed and the quality focussing of your cam... could even see a little fraying of the chicken-loop rope at the loop end...

How many minutes of footage did you take in that run? I was wondering if a polarizer would make the glare off the waves a little less, although the way you have used it makes a very nice effect.

Well done

Thanks to everyone for checking it out.

Music is "Silicon Systems" by local Freo band Ambidexter. "Wha a oo!"

I have a waterproof remote so i have start stop control for just before / after a jump or wave.

Its a Sony 520 scan line surveillance camera - google helmet camera and you will find more details - you want to go with a wide angle lense though! (which makes the waves / jumps look a little smaller than they are.

The cool thing is-most of what i shot was useable- lots of shots were kept for other projects -and i was kititng as i was filming - the holy grail!
