Hoping to find stories of stoke or carnage about yesterday...

Wind was good, and swell was absolutely massive - biggest it's been for years. Some real heart starters coming through.

Yesterday more than made up for all those windless 40 degree days, yet didn't seem to be many crew out.

Did you get some?

Still grinning,
Late session Thursday at the spot as the swell arrived. Followed by a down winder back to Coros. On the water at 9:00am the next. Too many waves for one man - gluttony is all I will say.
Just waiting now at 7:00am for the coffee to brew before another feast.

Huge day at Horrocks... 30 knots plus a super heavy swell. Pretty scary with so much water moving around. Never made it all the way out through the break. Had to keep turning around when another avalanche threatened to engulf me.

Swell still up today, but more settled. Hopefully we will get some wind this arvo.

Awesome downwinder - Lano to Wedge
8 kiters in total, lots of big swells and big grins
Only one stop on the beach whilst one of the crew untangled lines.
Oh and in case anyone is wondering we had a first aid kit, mobile, water, hats, spare pump and a driver at Wedge to collect anyone

The lads smashed out another Lanno to Wedge downwinder. A few of the boys rode strapless.

I won't say how big it was at the outer reefs, as the keyboard heros will have something to diss.

Biggest waves I have riden in 5 years anyway.

Pulled up sore this morning.

Edit: hey Swinging, you beat me to it.

Yep Lano to Wedge was epic, swell breaking miles out to sea the whole way.

A well earned beer out of the wind.

Early session at point Moore before it started to close out then downwind from drummonds cove to corro, going deep and slaying dragons all the way, well over mast high close outs and long punchy rides on the inside. No sight of anybody all the way, props to my downwind buddy a true slayer of giants.

THEN corro was going off nicely out back, the bar has been raised and what I considered big before is just a walk in the park!

GERO all time yeeew

Another cracker Lano to Wedge yesterday... And possibly a new record for longest ever self-rescue....Trying to outrun moster wave, loose rail, drop kite, kite inverted try flying kite inverted which now has the flight potential of a one winged retarded albtross.... Finally give up and hack the 1-1.5km self rescue.

Thanks to the awesome crew. Stayed eith me sll the way, waited on the beach with me and assisted with the chinese line tangle puzzle. Think i still owe a couple cartons for that one!!

That garmin track is interesting:

Elevation Gain: 1,270 ft
Elevation Loss: 1,198 ft

24 metres of up/down action : Boosting or really big faces?

Awww go on, have a stab!
The Gero outer channel boy was recording a 3.2m groundswell, I reckon the faces on breaking waves at Horrocks were 5 to 6 meters on the sets. Definitely over the old windsurfers mast high I think.

2 local surfers paddled out into the Horrocks gap this morning, they looked tiny. Craig reckons he took 19 or 20 waves and made the drop on 3... Ferocious.

Whatever .. Epic.

unbelievable...I got an invite for this DW, but the old 9-5 gig won out...of course, a minor tear of the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) whilst wakeboarding a week ago didn't help.

Work + injury = missed out. Not happy Jan. In fact, fkn spewing.....

I can cry also....

Whilst I am quite fond of a bit of up/down action at times there was no boosting on this run, so yeah I guess it must have been 24mtr faces, that sounds about right, I think I remember that one

Nothing spectacular, not even close. I wasn't trying to do a front mob
Was really gusty and stronger than I expected. No wind on the beach and hard to launch.
I was hit by a gust at the same time I decided to edge hard upwind. When lifted out of the water my right knee was twisted. I managed to kite back to the shore but my knee was wobbly and gave out a few times. End of the story.

I was out at Lancelin as well. Had a good sesh with some MASSIVE waves in the back. I'm not brave/good enough to tackle those badboys just yet but it was fantastic to watch all you nutcases shredding those waves apart!

All and all a good day full of boosting and learning new transitions.

Saw a dude get dragged over the beach and slam face first into the sand dunes. I'm sure some other guys at lano's would have seen it... Does anyone have any further info on how it exactly happened and if he's ok?
