Damn the temp scale didn't appear but looking at the colours I can see that it is colder than Esperance and Albany...... that can't be good.
is also significantly further south than Albs and Esp... currents aside, it ought to be colder. follow the latitude lines across and you will see you may be making a common mistake. Albany/ South Coast area can be darn cold, as it is the first touchdown point for most weather systems reeling in off the Antarctic, full of energy and hail and wind and rain, while i think some of the sting has been removed (particularly from easterly moving patterns, rather than something coming out of the south and hitting Vic direct).
was just back there over summer, and found the water suprisingly bearable. still had the southern freshness to it, but either i have hardened up in the Vicco waters or my old age, or there was some kind of La Ninoid bullshizza going on or something... i dunno... maybe wetsuits have improved in all these years.
