A mate just emailed me asking what's going on at woodies, he said there's signs up everywhere saying that the beach is closed to everyone except kiters today :S
Anyone got any ideas?
D
Nope, not from the look of it (I work about 5 mins drive from Woodies and the trees aren't moving too much at all) That's why I'm thinking someone must be setting up for some kind of event, but can't see any WAKSA related events :S
D
Nah, I kicked Dre out last month after he became to emotional and needy.
Anyway, I was told you like me more than Susi....
Now that is sick.
So there's supposed to be some of the best riders in the world in town at the moment for Core slider jam? So whats the score?? got canned yesterday?? So why werent these blokes (oh and girls) out doin some megaloops yerterday?? Or were they....
Not just any kiters only the once signed up for the sliders. And they are so disorganised that they are not even on the water unthil 4 or 5 every evening.
The "best in the world " went home at 30 kn.... what the?
I wonder if they came to WA because they heard it's windy?
"Hardcore pro's" packing up in 30 will ruin the sports reputation...
Len10 would have been out there....
Choicey Bro,
Lenten would of been out one beach one pulling massive double loops in front of use on the rocks watching enjoying our beers,
lest the Dutch would be tough.
Russ
haha choicey well i was out there at scarbs in 30 knots it was so awesome eh i was tryin all the kiteloops and *&^#$% did i go high. i was trying to go upwind with the kite fully depowered, then i'd edge really hard, fully power it up and go for it
my favourite was when i boosted, then did a downloop
it was MAD!
Who was out on the Black and Red RPM yesterday on beach 3 in 30kn+ (30th Jan)?
Respect...Those kiteloops were huge, you could see the height from the car park a few hundred meters away.
well i cant do handlepasses yet, so aaron hadlow impresses me. he makes it look so easy and ruben lenten can actually land the kiteloops smoothly and he goes higher when he does them.
I dunno,
Kites are really not designed well in general for wakestyle stuff, they turn at light speed as soon as you take one hand off the bar. In high winds like that have to be on small really zippy twitchy kites, not to mention the obstacles themselves move about. In high winds only takes a split second to fall off and get pulled into the obstacle. Would be a bit more safe with no leash but who wants to go fetch all the kites being released.
I would say it's more like sky divers not going out in a thunderstorm.
No really, kites aren't designed for strong wind. Fair enough, you can't be too careful.
Better luck next time. Never mind.
Fair enough i guess but would have been good to see them do other stuff.
There was reasonable swell around, they could have done some freeride stuff - loops, big jumps etc etc
If they are the best in the world then i would have thought they can perform good stuff in all conditions wild and not so wild.
