OOooohhh i'm feeling you on this one!

I've had such bad luck with the wind this season. Seems to be howling most days, but seems to go sht when i'm not at work or kung-fu.. Got three weeks off work, been soooo lucking forward to it . First week off n the wind is rubbish. I go away next week to Darwin. so you can expexct it to get good again then =/

It's caused by the low cell just off the coast. As another high moves across from the west then the boosted south sea breezes will return. The winds spiral anticlockwise out of the highs then clockwise into the lows. Watch it all unfold on the BoM websites interactive map. Sea temperatures can influence how far south these lows move in Summer. This year they appear to be moving further south, possibly corresponding with a La Nina pattern.

It was fully insane at Point Walter this afternoon. If you're new toy was a 5m kite you'd have been set. Tons of guys on 7s packing it in and heading for home.

We hit Pt Walter early around 7....using 11 and 12m kites. Waiting and waiting for the Easterly to pick up. Finished around 11. It was the first time I have kited there before, even jumped the sand bar a couple of times. Fun place to kite.

Possibly, though it would have to be related latently to the sharp negative IOD from a few months back, and it might be..? Now its neutral heading positive. Though may be its just that there is currently not a high IDO like last Summer, a big may be..?

It will be interesting to see where it goes... so many possibilities. Albany looks good, anyone up for a trip down south..?

It is worse on the East Coast.
We've had the Westerlies.

This season should start mid Jan this year.
