I need a replacement Hi Flow IN/OUT valve for my Ozone kite.
Are these available in Australia?

Where did you get your kite? Your local retailer should have them or be able to order them. If not: www.kitepower.com.au/

Ooops, I'll get that fixed, the valve is available and is in stock.
All Ozone kites come with a spare. Have you lost that one or did you not get it with a secondhand purchase?
Contact 02 95296894 after 9.30am and I'll get one shipped tomorrow express post.

Kite was new purchase by me.
I have the spare but it is not a self adhesive stick on.
Not sure what glue to use and good glue is usually about $20 a tube.
I thought of using Selleys Urethane Bond.
A self adhesive stick on replacement valve is probably cheaper and easier.

Thanks very much for your input. Will call tomorrow. Also need some other stuff for my repair kit. Departing Melbourne Oct 1st headed for WA.

This may be a little off topic, as Im sure theres better glues.
Black Valve 2004 Fuels, and Flexifoil Atoms 2008 were the worst kites with regard to dodgy valves. The cheapest fix was to peel them off, and use nail polish remover to clean the valve and the bladder. Wipe inside the valve mark on the bladder as the acetone starts to melt the bladder material a little bit and it will slightly crinkle. use tarzan grip and press down for 12 hours, a crankshaft is perfect with the holes being the right dimension. I also used to put a little bit of baking paper in the holes so the bladder didnt stick. It can save your ass on a holiday.

Hi Guys,

The Fix My Kite valve is for repair of Cabrinha kites, the Ozone valve is much bigger. Any good Ozone dealer will have replacement Ozone original valves.

So the valve hole in my leading edge will be too big for the self adhesive stick on (Cabrinha type) valve. I could make an adaptor but probably best to stick to original Ozone parts. I will have to use the spare valve provided with the kite but still need to know the best glue to use. I don't believe Tarzans Grip is as flexible as Selleys Urethane Bond. I have used 'Aquaseal' urethane glue for re-fixing latex seals on my dive drysuit. I think that glue would be ok too. Kitepower have KiteFix GluFix. I know it's good for sail repairs but not sure if suited to bladder material.
Strong, flexible and waterproof are the key needs.
I'd like to know what the kite makers reccommend.

By the way. Had a demo on the 2012 light wind Core kite.
Greg let me use it while on Cocos.

Hey Rob are heading back up our way? Surely you will score sandy bay this time.
If you get stuck we have the valves in little old Exmouth. I am pretty sure DM from AKS made an instructional video for replacing the valves but I can't seem to find it so maybe send him an email.

Hi Scott,

I'm towing the van over. Straight to Exmouth. Arrive as soon as school hols finish. I think that's about the 17th. Then drift down the coast for 3 months. I'm hoping third time lucky for Sandy Bay.

I searched the web for instructions to replace valve but could find nothing so will contact Darren

Thanks. See you soon.

Rob
