Just tryin to get a handle on how many people out there are winching? I have an urban rider and it's sick but don't get it out any where near as much as I would like... I have heard a rumour that Cam Prest has a nice little dam with some rails and a wall ride...
Rumour perhaps but not a reality. Matt's parents own a little dam on the north side of brizzy we go winching in which they built a wall and a few little sliders in. More often than not though me and cam just go out infront of our place in Sandgate and drag something out.
We have been winching more at the beach though lately, in a gutter down south wakeskating and just pulling into beachies with surfboards.
Ahh fair enough rowdy, that sounds awesome... We use mine as a back up for kite comps here in south aus as a no wind alternative, also use it on a 6m long flat rail i have built here. That sounds awesome towing into beachies, pity the biggest swell we get is only about half a foot ;) keep up the good work bro...
Lol or you can just buy one, Craig from Urban rider builds a sick winch and the new one with a torque converter is sick....
yer but you got to weigh it up, most kiters arent that into sessioning duck ponds hitting rails etc so 4k is a lot to spend vs the 1-1.5k spent building one.
other people (like me) are too tight arse to spend that much as well so building looks like a nicer option
I hear Clayton from Penrith Cables is selling one of the System 2.0 setups to make room for a new clockwise cable...
Assuming someone has the land, water, and 3 phase it would cost about $3.5K each between 10 partners.
Cams winch is way better than an urban and cost him 1G. It's all alloy and can be lifted by 1 person. As crunch said, google it, there are tons of sites. Just make sure you run a TAV2.
nothing to do with winches but you can buy a system 2.0 second hand for 35k. or you can buy a www.gorideaustralia.com for less than 30k.
i got told ur not allowed to by system 2.0s anymore and have to get it on a long term lease plan or something because they dont want to flood the market with system 2s or some crap... read it on a wake forum
What sleek said is also true, if your gonna buy anything, buy a Goride. It's cheaper, it's australian, it's also a better design and it works better to.
