Hey anyone got any advice on whether I'm putting too much pressure in the leading edge of my kite. The damn thing exploded on me, ripped right around at a seam and the bladder blew out with a hole the size of an orange. It seems I have to pump up the bladders quite hard to get the kite rigid and flying well. The guy who was helping me launch was a bit rough and bent the kite backwards as he was picking it up and "Bang"..nearly blew his eardrums out. Luckily it was an older '04 LF spectrum and not anything worth too much... Too much air or bad handling or bad quality kite?

I reckon the guy launching the kite owes you a kebab!

get a gauge, if it pops with <6psi. something wrong with the kite.

Old kite thats all. I had an old Air Rush explode down the beach on a perfect day, wasn't pumped that hard either. At least it wasn't brand new!

Check the seam on the le as you should be able to tell from that. As kites get older they start to stretch if you look at the seam and can see that the material is stretching away froim the stitching then usually time to look at a new kite. If it's still tight you should be fine. If you look at getting it repaired the guy fixing sould be able to look and give you an idea on whats going on..

felt pretty ****y though to see a kite spill its guts like that
