Not quite, Fish 4, city slickers 1.

I spent 15 minutes playing the cobia and had him up against the side of the kayak and as I was reaching for the trace he gave it one last kick. I was using really light gear and the shock snapped the tip off the rod, the line also went with it and he swam off with my brand new Halco lure. Unfortunately I can't offer any advice on how to get it back in to shore on the kayak or a SUP as I hadn't fully thought it through

Looking forward to landing a Ningaloo goat next year, what bait do you use to fish for them? Having a feral goat thrashing around in the kayak is going to be tricky too.

Today, my body aches from so much sup and so much kiting. Howling off shores today (in the am), so get to rest up a bit. Board shorts, sunburn, 7m kites, more wind that the body can handle, cold beer, steaks, stories of the fish that got away, good mates, its a great time away...

So many turtles, they are almost like pests! .

... we got a turtle thing happening here too, they really are like pests when you doing mach 9 kiting into the sun and they're not quick enough!!!!! The big ones the size of a table is really bad, they don't move very quick at all. Just to add to the pest list, Dugongs too, only they are really slow so you really have to watch out. Just yesterday I shaved past one on my Sector with its monster fins, looked as big as a cow!!! I don't think my sector will handle hitting one of those too well!

cheers,

Robbie

yup , and turtles are cool, wouldn't dream of fishing for them. I'm just hoping the goats are outside the sanctuary zones, is there a legal minimum size? bag limit?

Sorry Chris I was playing dumb as the Ningaloo marine goat is a prize catch and locals don't like outsiders knowing about them. I hear the best bait is a leprechaun tied to a cray pot.

Driving or flying Sci? If you fly in, rent a campervan from Exmouth Camper Hire. If you drive in, I'd camp. Hotels in Exm are spendy and miles from the best kiting spots.

We are going to road trip it so It looks like we will be camping. Not sure what camping spots are near the better flat water lagoons.

cape range national park is the spot to head to. Camping is the only option with drop toilets at the camp sites and nothing else. Osprey Bay camp site is a short downwinder to Sandy Bay but is open to the wind so can be painful in a tent. Pilgramana is nice and protected from the wind and can be pre booked but is a 2 min drive from sandy bay and mesa camp ground you can kite right in front in a small protected bay with enough room to come in and through 1 right foot forward trick.
All of it is accessible by 2wd too.
