hi anybody know of a high aspect 4 or 5 line bridleless c kite available? something with plenty of grunt and good boosting. cheers
Mutiny P series is a sweet kite demo one and see for yourself, Awesome boost, loops nicely, havn't had a chance to unhook to much on it but really stoked with this kite so far. The bar is pretty cool to.
Mutiny P series so far this summer has had only one person not really enjoy the kite, and that includes sponsored riders, other stores team riders and just general weekend warriors.
6,8,10,12 available for demo and in stock at WA Surf if anyone is keen
disclaimer: shop staff
EDIT - Mutiny also has the best customer service in the industry, hands down. The guys are so keen to get feedback and suggestions from their customers, every day riders, over just their pro's. We've also seen them implement changes mid season if they can, rather than just say "we're working on it for next season".
I ride the Torch (12 & 8m) love the kite. To give you some idea of my impressions of C-Kites I have owned/tried
From best to worse (IMO):
Easy to boost: P-Series > Vegas 2012 > Vegas 2013 > Torch
Boosting hangtime: P-Series > Vegas 2012 > Vegas 2013 > Torch
Pull during loops (lots of pull is good ): Torch>> Vegas 2013> Veags 2012 = P-Series
Unhooked pop: Torch> Vegas 2013> Veags 2012 = P-Series
Slack after pop: all very similar (specially when wakestyle setting is used)
Build quality: Torch > Vegas > P-Series
Wind range hooked in: P-Series > Torch
Wind range unhooked: Torch > P-Series
If you want to boost and have a easy to fly kite I would go P-Series. If you want to power unhooked tricks probably torch or 2013 Vegas. If you want to do big loops go Torch or Vegas. All of these four kites (and probably also Fuel and C4 will do the Job)
i really like the 9m switch combat, sits between a fuel and torch/vegas. One of the hardest pulling kites i have ridden when turned to generate power. Both torch and vegas are real good too. my quiver is , a torch 8m (more like a 7.3m to me) a vegas 12m (more like an 11.3m) and a few combats 9m fave (like a 9.7).
y bridles work well for stability/depower but do my head in when the kite ends up inside one side of it - nightmare, prefer 5th from bar. Wanna try a p series anairush and best c kites.
longer lines for bigger boosting...
Airush Razor!
Generating a bit of a cult following in the UK - goes massive and is just so precise in it's handling.
kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/airish-razor-2013-review-55191 - shop owner review who loved his older Fuels and the Torch but blown away with the Razor
There is also a big Airush thread with my full review on there. I'm no freestyle monkey but I love my Tam Razors as they are very dynamic and more importantly go huge!
you dont mention size?
Here at KSS we have the last 2 remaining superceded SS Fuels to clear at the ridulously low cost of $750 - way under 1/2 price and no real difference from 2012 to 2013 anyhow.
Both brand new still in original packing.
Bargain.
Demo a Airush Razor
Goes really big with plenty of float
Can be hard to find in NSW but if you are in Sydney PM me and you can try my 11
Expo was afraid to try mine in Mandurah cause he thought he might like it more than the Edges and his wife would get mad at him for buying more kites.
Check out the Naish Torch and also the Liquid Force HIFI X, both are excellent non bridled C's. If you are in Sydney i could possibly arrange a demo.
I ride fuels, awesome build quality. 9m been going for 4 years now, but any of the big brands. Dont buy cheap crap, they just dont last
Liquid Force HIFI X.
Got the Airush 2013 and me thinks the LF 2009(!) is a better built kite.
And I do like below the bar depower more and more...
