Hey bro, I did a video for a school project back in year 9. i wasn't the best kitesurfer around, but i could manage some back-loops/spins and a few jumps. but tricks aren't everything. editing the video, like syncing it to music, using slow-motion shots at the right time and stuff helps make it a good video. i use Adobe Premier Elements to edit my vids. Now about the length of the video... people who don't kitesurf won't generally want to watch long videos so i would recommend doing 5 minutes of quality kitesurfing in a vid maximum. about the camera, we just use a normal Sony HQ video camera and mount it on a tripod for stability. I wouldnt get too keen for gopros and stuff like that because the footage might not be as good quality. here's a couple of my vids:
Hey, I made a skydiving movie a couple years ago, and I basically started with songs in my mind, and fitted footage to it - I agree with all Janowsk said esp about syncing it to music and use slo-mo in certain parts - I filmed a couple of skits too so there was lots of sick footage and some laughs - also make sure you include some spectacular stacks!!! Experiment with different titles/ fades, but make sure the music is spine tingling!!! good luck I'd be keen to see it!
righto cheers for the help, and itd be for people who dont kitesurf and who havent seen it b4 i was also going to mix it up with some surfing, skating and stuff ?
