the trailing edge of my 8m rpm is paper thin, need to have the whole thing replaced anyone had any luck with this and cost wise is it even worth it cheers
I find that once a kite gets to that stage everything will need replacement soon enough. Next it will be a leading edge seam, bladder burst, rip in surf...
Patch it with sail tape as required and you may get another 40 sessions or more.
Treat yourself to a new kite at the end of summer sales.

Ice is right ... Its time to start letting go and let it become the Beach shade it always wanted to be
I bought a flogged RPM and the above is what I did and have had no problems at all but I have not really dropped tyhe kite in any major waves yet.
Takes a while to cut each piece of sticky back dacron to the exact width of each panel but you have to do it not to distort the arch.I used tent seem glue along the overlap of dacron to keep it from lifting and it worked like a charm. It added above 100 to 150 grams to the kite and cost about 20 buck for 1m of sticky back dacron.
It would not be cost effectiove to get a kite repairer to repair it.
Cheers

I had a full trailing edge done on 16m switchblade for around $140
