HI guys I'm new to kiteboarding and have bought a 2010 rpm slingshot when trying to launch it apears the back lines are too short, had a look at another rpm and it looked like it had about 1m extensions on the rear, wondering if anyone here has the same kite and could tell me the exact length for the extensions ?

hmm - i dont own one of those (RPM) but as for the line lenghts of almost all recent (2009 ++ ) kites and yours falls into that category, your back lines and front lines should be equal lenghts when you are fully powered and also fully sheeted - so that means if you connect you lines to a fixed post ( not the kite!!) and a good way is to connect all 4 lines to a common point (yeah you need to be inventive when the line connector system is different for your front and back lines ) - they should be the same length!!

All that said - SS kites seem to be slack in the back lines when you depower ( ie no direct steering input until you pull the bar in)

Maybe its simply a SS design issue?? ( waiting for the red thumbs !!)

Ah yep you'll be needing them. I have them on my Rallys too. Technically theyre part of the kite/bridle not the bar & lines. Don't know the exact length but Greg (kitesurfwarehouse.com.au) is the SS dealer in Perth, call him I'm sure he'd be able to help you locate replacements.

Cutch is onto it it has happened in the past to me when I have lent my kites and people have detached them at the bridal attachment point not the pigtails - for some reason they are not with the kite ask the person who you got it from if hey have a second bar they used with it as they inevitably end up on the bar lines when detached from the kite otherwise contact Ss directly and they can give you lengths to make up some replacements.
