Matt, they are awesome shots, got any more.... lucky I got a good camera.
Was an awesome session down there.
Flying into SYD for the 20+ knot NNE forecast Thur 19th Dec (it's a few days off I know but gotta pack) - any Northern beaches work for this>?
kitegirl hookups also welcome ;)
What's wrong with you people?
Finished work around 4pm headed to the local. White caps and flat water (not a wave might have something to do with it for some) crystal clear water and butter flat water in the corner.
I had the best session fairly powered on the 13 edge have had for around 4 months.
Not another kite in sight.
I checked it yesterday around 3 and decided it was to marginal plus I like waves and it was sooooo flat.
Went out this arvo on my 12m & TT in desperation for 40 mins before the wind died.
I guess that's why no else was around?
hehhehehe, today was puss. now wind, yesty was 15+???
tomorrow hopefully 25+???
oh, and last day of work for the year!!! yewww.
I had a couple of good sessions out at south narrabeen today. Wind was a bit gusty, but was heaps of fun. The small swell provided good kickers for looping off
Got onto that southerly this arvo at Brighton while I was up in Sydney. I was on my own for an hour , wind died pretty quick . So much for the place being packed with kiters
Only put this up to keep SB's thread alive while he's over in the states . Btw had a kite down the coast a bit in the last southerly overhead waves and a few bombs coming through

how is the 13m going? repaired OK?
yesterday was sweet... flew over off the east coast at sunrise and you could see plenty of whitecaps. got to sydney at 730 and no wind, by lunch it was on the coast up around 30knots. did a solo sesh at the head they down winded from gerroa-heads with a couple of lads.
i got a go pro so stay tuned for plenty of kook shots and boring POV vids!!! haha.
ohhh, and how sweeeeet is pink wax. so fresh i had to use it to match my boardies!
sic wax Matt,
I gotta new board to froth on.
Only had 3 small sessions and it's by far the quickest one i've ever had..
better than the Mulc..
What............better than the Mulc? Nooooooooooooooooo.............
Oh sorry I lost it for a moment but yeah it is a great looking board

Sweet looking shooter Tony. Did you get that custom??
Hey Gus,
Yes, it was based on a board that Jeremy Smith had made by Phil Byrne..
5'11' x 19 x 2" 4/16.
Parabolic stringers (on the rails) , carbon stringer (each side centre) and carbon rails at the fins.
All my best boards (surfing) have been made by Phil, as you know I had the last 2 boards from BWS but decided to go back to a more surfing shaper. Phil Byrne is without doubt one of the best ever...
Board is sic, totally loose. I am such a kook, gunna take a while to dial in...
Matt & Mini, YES, better than the Mulc. Never thought i'd say that... LOL...
Nice lookin stick bro..
Back you up on phill is among the best.
I used to go thru 2-3 boards a year surfin then got an epoxy board off phill and still have it 4 years later..
Yew
Hey Surfingboye/Matt,
how was your USA trip ??
Any goss ??
Hey SurfsnowMatt,
yep gotta agree, Phil Byrne is da man
Yeah tony, we had a ball.
I did a bit of an update in this thread here...

Looking forward to all the kiting coming up this week, looks great!
Hey Matt,
Nice vid, was fun. Loved the bogged van scene. You silly muther f..ckers!!! LOL...
I spent a heap of time up on the east side of the Sierra's on R#395. In the early 90's I ran hang gliding tours for Aussies to go in our winter (nrth hem summer) and the Owens valley was the highlight. Special place on the planet.
Wind is looking ok but someone please send some swell.
anyone know of anyone doing downwinders around the headlands between windang and shoally heads?
surely old school poleys have sailed some of the breaks in years gone by????
oh well, winds kicked in again???
better get out there and make the most of it.
Personally, i reckon that's a dumb move...
Bass point sticks "miles" out to sea and if you want to navigate around that means staying 1 km offshore from say, Bass point to Gerroa.
All those nice beaches around Kiama are in what we call "rotor", which equates to non laminar rotating air and Kites hate it..
Sorry to blow your idea up...
Me being one of those old school polies I have to agree with Tony on all of the above . If you ever want to kite the outer bombie off Black Head Gerroa I would be keen to kite out there with ya , I wouldn't do it on my own for safety reasons but with a few kiters we can look after each other . No swell at the moment , next south swell NE wind I would be keen.
well it was certainly pretty scetchy??? yesterday we did werri-heads, today was jones beach-heads.
wind was pretty much nonexistent until i got around to kiami bends/start of werri. semi glassy in spots. 7 mile was 25+.
if you wreck your kite, best case is pretty much swim in and get washed onto rock platform. so you have to be prepared to do that! worst: don't even want to know.
waves, will be going back for them given more swell.
so yeah, super sketchy. but something different to the norm to keep things going???
this is not a recommendation to do it, just a report of me doing it.
To say yesterdays adventure was sketchy is a bit of an understatement
I still can't believe some of the sh1t that went down from searching for a decent launch point in light winds to the madness of some of those rock shelf waves along the way and the final werri to shoally leg in nuking conditions yeeeow
all of which ended with us helping put an injured windsurfer in the ambulance then driving back to the start point only to find the car broken into
Again not recommended but an epic adventure
