Hey everyone!
I finally strapped my camera to my kite and grabbed some video to show friends back home how things work for a beginner. Check it out and let me know what you think!
I like it! I'm a beginner too so I understand, even though to the guys who are fully competent the video will probably seem pretty boring, I found it quite good to watch and see you making similar mistakes to what I make.
What was the size of the board did you ended up using?
And if you hate the walk of shame, I found body dragging upwind is easy as pie, so just body drag upwind with your board and it will also give your legs a rest.
Thanks CheeseBurger! The board was pretty huge: 160x46 I think.
I certainly don't hate my 'run of shame' (even though it will be fun when I don't have to do it anymore) as it is a great power workout running in sand with a kite pulling against me! When I do the 'run of shame' it is about 600m so it is much faster to run it than dragging back upwind. I end up spending more time on the board and less time dragging with it. It is also the way beginner traffic circulates so it is easier to go with the flow.
I dont understand when you said you havent water relaunched since your first lesson, which is a suprise. Soon as you start jumping you will see your kite hit the water alllllllll the time
I like the camera angle. But agree with dusta, made me feel motion sickness, with the kite sineing. Goodluck with your progression, bigger board certainly helps in the learning stages.

Ha, thanks for the comments about the motion sickness. Hopefully I'll have more wind and experience next time so I don't have to sine the kite quite as much.
@JJB - Having been so desperate to kite at times I have gone out in some VERY light winds so have become a relaunch master. The "first time" comment referred to just plain ol' not steering the kite back up hard enough and hitting the water.
