Had my first crack at strapless surfboard riding - ummm I felt like a lame-duck beginner again, had to swallow my pride and look like a complete noddy!
Any tips on water starting strapless in shallow water and when you fall off in the deep (yes you can all laugh about now...).
Cool though, trying something new, when I did get going, it's a real sense of freedom without straps. Liked it - not the water up every possible orrifice!
Cheers
dont wanna be mr police but eppo surely all your riding questions are better served in the tips & tricks section. These questions are why the section was created.
Just my opinion.
I can't see the vids (work police), but damn water starts are easy on a directional once you know how.
Just keep the board flat on the water and put your heels on the deck where your feet are going to be. The board should be roughly perpendicular to the kite - ie both legs straight (slightly bent). Dive the kite and keep a bit of downward pressure on your heels. The board will flip up into position as you are pulled forward. Once it flips up you can point it downwind a bit and off you go....
Although dont do what the guy did at the start of the second video... Leg rope=death or serious injury.
