Hi Peeps,

I just got word of a new model kite coming from Core. This is not a review, just a heads up.

The new model is the Core Riot XR (cross ride). Looks nice!

Have a look at this video

This is all I know so please do not ask any questions, besides I'll be away for the next few days. No release date, no pricing as yet. Just a notice of a new kite.

Enjoy!

I have a GT and its a sick kite, I love it BUT
They didn't change the bar! They still have that stupid loop which always hook it self when you don't want it.

Why they are not using a stopper like Naish or SS or Best or...?

in the time it took you to post that you could have got the side cutters out and chopped that wire off the bar.

It doesnt take much time to put stopper either, you can have it on 2 or 3 lines, personally I prefer not to have it.

i hate quicktime

cuts the screen in half and instead of a whole video i just see two left halves of the vid side by side...

might have to give the core's a ride this year and see how they go though!

I don't really understand why the make the bar with the hook, who rides with the bar fully sheeted in the whole time anyway. If you unhook the yellow quick release will rest against the bar, but to have it when hooked in is a little dangerous. If you are fully overpowered it might be hard to unhook it. I know it would be easy to cut it off, but why have it there in the first place?
I do like the look of the unspinning centre line though, plus the kite looks good. I like how they offer these kites in every size 9,10,11, 12 ect. More companys should do this.

Looks sick Daz. I'd be keen to give one a try when they come in. Make sure you post it upon there arrival. I'll come and try one out. I've been riding C kites for 9 years I need a change.

Hi guys,

To all who complain about the mini loop. The idea is you just cut it off if you don't like or want it, thats why there is a spare mini loop in the bar bag. It comes with a spare so you can re-install it at a later date if you change your mind or want to sell the kite.

To cut it off, grab a stanley knife and cut the loop against the bar, then get a small punch and punch out the knots that are recessed into the bar. Done! If it really freaks you out, cut off then loop and use a hacksaw to cut off the hook.

It just seems a little pointless whinging about it and doing nothing when it's a 2 minute job to remove it and make it PERFECT!

Kites still look like being a couple to a few weeks away. They are selling gangbusters in Germany and are having issues getting enough stock. I hear we will get demo's and maybe a couple of kites, but no big shipments for a little while until Germany/Europe starts to hibernate for winter. Bummer, but at least it means they must be the goods. I look forward to their arrival.

Cheers,

KH
