Looks like it will be a good rival for the bandit and it has no pulleys so it will be interesting what Fone have in the bag........

Sounds good by the reviews, strong design Split Strut, lots of hang time does not drop out the sky, Comp stick bar with
700lb lines etc....... and great bottom end.

Would be interesting to see if it is going to be a serious competitor or destined to be branded as an in-between kite only because it has to play second fiddle to the RPM and Fuel.

there will be some f--- up its slingshot, release before its ready, octane would have had so many more buyers ,they flew like ****, then later they tell everyone remove this. world class idiots. bring back the fuel bladder

Well time for looksy . My Rev's are going strong after two years however and I didnt find the octane to be mutch of a step up...

One comment though.. not much point having 700lb lines when the safety is 3lb.. dont use it or you'll lose it. attach straight to the depower. Still as safe as any other non fifth line kite

I had a good afternoon on a 7m in solid wind and went back to my 7m Rev afterwards. Not long enough to fall in love ? maybe.... I feel revs have better bottom end, more mid bar pressure, the thick depower doesnt get jammed in the cleat, but other bar features are improved. Crew tell me the octane is more refined and guys do love them here.

Demoing a Fluid Ego at the moment. But bloody easterlies everyday for next week. A nice looking kite out of the bag. We shall see...

I've been a faithful Cabrinha rider since the old skool xbows all great kites esp switch3 n IDS's till the nomads were born and what a peice of poo they are the 13m will make a great caravan anex for grandma I had the 13m, 11m plus the 9m the 11 and 9m are good but then I was given a ride on a 13m octane back to back with the 13m nomad in 15-20knts what a difference the octane was much better bottom end way heaps better down the line in the waves and turns like a much smaller nomad the octane was so damm fast great hang time great relaunch just so much better than cab only thing takes bit to get used to the below the bar depower grandma is so happy with her new caravan anexes that I'm Gunna get a Christmas present this year for sure as for slingshot LOVE THE OCTANES 13, 11, 9m can't wait to see what the slingshot Santa brings me this year

This is the first Delta kite i have spent much time on and was abit skeptical after loving my rev's and octanes soo much. ive had 1 for about a month now. 10m. took it to mauritius but didnt get a chance to use it as it was like 25-30 knots the whole time and i was on my 5m pretty much from 10 or 11 in the morning. then i had it in bali for 2 weeks but didnt have too many good days kiting as the spot we where kiting was really cross off and gusty as hell so not good conditions for any kiting really, but there was 2 days where the wind was good and not gusty and holey and i liked the kite alot. really direct steering and feels super solid in your hands. when guys where on 11s and 12s i was powered right up on my 10 which was the biggest kite i took there, even after everyone said dont take anything smaller than a 12 i only took the 10. i have dropped it in the surf a heap of times and a couple of days where quite big . a few times i got dragged a fair way and thought there is no way this kite is going to pop up in 1 peice but it popped up after i got dragged underwater for about 50m and relaunched staright away. they relaunch super easy and have the standard bomber slingshot construction ( which i have tested out several times, haha). cant wait to have some more time on these in some good conditions at home and to see if i will get onto these or the RPMs. i havent got the new bar yet so not sure if that has changed or not.

We were up at di with this one, where were you it was cranking (still didnt spend much time on it, other guys were having a go) I will say the 12 has lots of grunt and even when it got lighter (12nts) you couldnt stall it, relaunch was super easy, build was realy good typical slingshot.I wont say anymore till ive ridden it enough to give more accurate reveiw
Have fun George

How do you think it would work with the SS Pro bar. I like the depower above the bar? just a personal thing.

Ive had it out for a longer session now both in small waves and flat water, and yes it would work on a pro bar(like the above the bar depower myself).I will say the kite is quite different to any slingshot ive ridden before, so took me a while to get it dialed in ,but once i did had a lot of fun, good upwind, goes well in light wind (but more grunt than apparant wind), and when it gets a decent breeze its a lot more nimble than i expected, jumps great both high and easy, pleanty of hang too.Saftey works great ,relaunch is even better than the t3, its super stable in both light dodgy wind and decent 22 knts , unhooking didnt try this much but i couldnt stall it(so should be good),but you would want to pick the right size it pulls like a truck . What i liked was when you park it low in the window and ride fast and hard it just sits there dosnt turn down ,and wind range seemed good had it out in up to12- 23knts didnt depower it at all but still thats not realy windy for a 12mtr is it.
Have fun
George

Yes got a demo from Kitepower and got to ride it today and loved it. 85kg on a 12 meter. The wind was gusty south west 13 knots to maybe 17 in gusts but this kite handles it so well. Riding my 11 meter octane in this sort of wind is no where near as much fun. The bar pressure is solid even when the wind dropped off a little. It rides up wind well, I couldn't for the life of me make it stall, control when jumping was great and re launch was great. When the wind gusted up i got an idea of its power, It goes fast, i was able to easily catch and pass my son on his 10m RPM and he weighs allot less than me, so as a course racing kite it will excel. Well worth a demo
