G'day,

I saw an ad in kitesurf issue 37 online mag and it had the North 2013 Fuse coming out with 16m and 18m. Anyone know if this is true? Intheloop, Briskites can you shed any light on this? What about the Dyno then, will the Fuse be more Freeride orientated and Dyno race orientated?

cheers,

Robbie

True yes.

Our first Fuse arrived today.

This powerhouse is now available in the big sizes.
Lower aspect means they will be more freeride and assessable for the average kiter.
Don't let the lower aspect put you off too much though as the Fuse is still an upwind machine.

Consider your line length choice to suit your riding style though.

... did you get any big ones in?

Do you think line lengths will make a big difference (apart from the obvious ie longer lines giving you more power stroke)? Would be interesting if the kites characteritics change from short, standard to long lines.

When you test the kite, can you let us also know if it sufferes from LE deforming when pushed hard (or deforming as if you under inflated the kite ala North Rhino 2009).

Cheers,

Robbie

LE Deformation isn't an issue we have ever experienced with the Fuse here.
I'm sure if there are big ones coming you will see some in Darwin.

... no deforming, good news!

So, any opinions yet how it flys? What sizes did you get?

... yeah its been a long while hey, and not even a few words from North guys either?

I've been trying in vein for ages now to find info out,,,, but nada info. Infact, this lack of info feedback has made me start looking at other brands now, and had a good run on an Ozone 19m recently. If I don't get anything soon I might jump ship and change brands.

cheers,

Robbie

... tee hee, can we make up a secret handshake????

I'm usually very loyal customer but I just don't want to get a kite with out knowing myself, not anymore. Ken Winner is a legend designer so I'm sure the Fuse would be a nice kite, but without info, its just too hard to commit, especially $2900AU!

Agree Robbie. Thought there would be some feed back at least from North suppliers.
Being new bigger sizes especially in the Fuse, you would think they would be frothing at the mouth to test and promote.
Would like to hear something................. positive or negative just something.

So boys I recently purchased a 2013 16m Fuse for my upcoming trip to Aitutaki, only been able to fly it twice due to there being to much wind every other day which is not a bad thing.

So here's what I found:
Really easy to pump up, was expecting this to be an epic job.
Flew easily in about 10 knots, was responsive enough
I was able to loop it quite easy and found the turning to be similar to my 2012 14m
The thing that really impressed me was the boosting even in 12knots the hang time was exceptional and as it comes down towards the water there seems to be this glide as you slide along about a mtr from the water before it touches down.

I found tricks that i do my 12m were easier to do on this thing in half as much wind, things like boards off. There was just this extra time to get the board off and back to you feet, very impressed and I look forward to trying it in say 15knots

Order mine from www.kite-line.com for $1480 kite only

No mate been to windy down this way to get it out. Off to the Cook Islands - Aitutaki next month where it will get a work out. Lets just say i'm really happy with the limited time i have had on the water with this kite. My others kites are Rebel's and Evo's and i enjoy them all, bit of a North Fan
