That's a sweet bar design and overall I want to know more.. Anyone care to let us know what they are like???
Hi RPM,
I have ridden both the P and F series a couple of times (Demos from Briskites). The F series is really not my style of kite (ride C-Kites, Naish Torch) but I was impressed with the low end power of the kite.
In general the kites seem to be well made and the bar is good. I did not like the chicken loop too much (a bit stiff and a bit small). I would say the overall quality and attention to detail is about 80-90% of 2012 Naish. Price is about 70-80% so I guess that's about right.
The-P Series I really liked. I had the 9m out on my TT in about 25kn (85kg). The kite was on the Freeride setting. The kite boost and loops really well. Bar pressure is medium-light (compared to the Torch). In the freeride setting the kite feels somewhere between a C and a hybrid kite. I assume the kite would have a bit more bar pressure and C feel in the “New School” setting. Relaunch is easy and depower is very good. The only thing I did not like is that the bridals look a bit “flimsy” (they are defiantly strong enough but look a bit like shoelaces). I did not try the “New School” setting yet, but even in the Freeride one unhooking was o.k.
All in all a really fun kite to ride and definitely worth considering…
yo rpm, the mutiny kites are from the uk designed by ex flexifoil designer, they do the f p and new s series, ive a mate in the uk that tests for many brands ,and he says the mutiny kites are one of the best kites hes tested ,hes been involved with north from early on so hes know what hes on about,a few euro kite mags have done tests on them and had glowing reports, i think surf and sail at gero have a demo arriving soon, ill try and dig out some reviews if your keen,
Thanks guys...
Appreciate the feedback. Definately keen to have a closer look once one arrives in WA.
Just joined the forum after being in au for 2 months!
I am one of mutiny's team riders, and helping them to get into the australian market.
We are currently in contact with shops all round australia trying to sort dealers!
I can keep you all updated when a shop in WA is all signed up.
Currently Briskites and Gokite have demo kites available.
If not I will be traveling round in march april time, so feel free to get in touch! Jord@kite-kit.Co.uk
Having had a chance to ride plenty of different kites over 8 years of kitesurfing, and I have to say they are pretty insane and one of the best kites I have flown. Also there designers are great guys and always looking for feedback on the kit, working for kites that are design based to work as well as possible.
I have ridden both the P and F, as well as prototypes of different concepts, and I have seen what is in store for 2012/2013 and it looks amazing!
The F is more aimed at all levels of rider from learning up to full on freestyle tricks and megaloops, easy to relaunch and a great bar feeling with the option of 4or5 lines!
The P is a more advanced kite but will suit people from free riding and jumping up tothe insane stuff you see in videos!
I have pushed the kites to the limits and felt confident with them, (40kts gusting well over 50) as well as some pretty bad crashes and the kites have survived through it all!
Feel free to get in touch if you want more info or to have a chat

Went for a run on the 9 m p series and it was a really nice kite. I found it hard to relaunch but I it's been a while since I used a c-kite. Chicken loop is weird, it's hard. Nice bar. ****load of fun to ride. Probably hurt myself on it in 25 knots, but I'm old and frail. Definitely worth a demo.
Had a day off in Brissie recently, so went down and hired a F series for the afternoon. It was a 12m and wind was only 12-15kts, but I was fully powered and found jumping really easy, with nice soft landings. Bar pressure was very light and the chicken loop seemed fine. Bar was also very comfortable. I would say that it is very similar to the latest Switchblade, and would definately advise you to consider one if you are looking at this style of kite. Couple of phone pics from the day.
So far have used the F-Series (Freeride) and P-Series (Performance) with most time on the P.
The F to me seems to feel most similar to something like a Fuse when in 4 line mode . Still yet to try it in 5 line mode but switching to 5 line (This also removes the bridle and pulleys) supposedly makes it more aggressive, direct and dynamic. This could be good for somebody to learn on in 4 line and when they progress switch to 5 line.
Been riding the P-Series extensively lately with some great sessions on the 9m. Feel is somewhere between a Torch and Vegas.
New kite being released shortly is the S-Series as a dedicated wave kite. I have it on good authority that this one doesn't drop from the sky and isn't made from cheaper Korean cloth, awesome
Been riding all the Mutiny Kite range for about a year now and I'm pretty stoked on the kites. I'm a team rider for the company so think what you want about my opinion on the brand. F-Series, P-Series and now the S-Series all have their purpose and can make for a fun session. The P-Series is my money kite.
Just an easy to use and love c-kite. And you can get dialed in right away on the kite.
F-Series= Big Air
P-Series= Loops + Freestyle
S-Series= Waves + Wakestyle
Hit up your local retailer and try out the kites for yourself and see what you think of the new Mutiny Kites! Super under rated company here in the states.
If your ever in Florida hit me for a Demo and a session!

Have to agree with the dialling in part on the P-series, was landing kite loops after my first session on a 9m whilst in Safety Bay. If Mutiny changed the colour scheme to that of a 2012 Vegas, I would be hard pressed to tell the two kites apart!
