Got one!

Im a 80kg intermediate riding a 144 hammer. Usually in choppy onshore conditions. Great stable kite and it has plenty of tuning possiblities. The kite works a dream in 15 - 20 knots on the front line heavy rider setting. ( Actually Im interested to know how the 14m goes unhooked in light conditions) Havent tried the 11m in stronger wind yet but it feels like it has the potential to handle some more.

Very comfortable and fast to fly. Im very suprised how light the bar pressure is compared to the Vapour and Rev kites I have flown. The kite takes little effort to turn and spins on a dime with out much fluttering.

Jumps pretty good. To get height I find I have to ride really fast and send it! It hasnt got huge hang time but feels comfortable for me to try some wake style stuff close to the water, without flying to the moon.

Upwind is great. I recon it goes better upwind on the heavy rider settings. The kite really cuts through the gusts well and Im suprised how well the depower works for a C kite. It seems to have more depower than most kites I have flown in this size. Especially straight out of a hard turn and pushing the bar out theres almost nothing, so it could be good wave riding.

Relaunch is good. Im already able to relaunch a kite fairly well and have had no difficulty doing any style of relaunch I am currently used to. Just pulling on 1 line relaunches the kite easily from the leading edge down. I feel confident with the 5th line too. Good security system. Really simple and seems to work great when I tried a practice release on the beach. I did have to adjust the stopper ball on the 5th line as it was far too long and the kite was flying.

New guys are good guys too. I wasnt smothered with sales talk. I have spoken to many different shop people about different kites, tuning and design ra ra ra. Talking to someone who has good knowlege of the gear really impressed me.

All up Im pretty amped on my New kite! Im a goofy footer so cant wait to make it over to Geraldton this summer to ride some left hander waves.

Great stuff.
Check to make sure the 5th line stopper is set on the second longest sewing mark. This is the correct setting for the 11m.

If you're riding unhooked and it seems like light wind, under 20knots, attach your safety leash like pictured. The kite will keep flying and your riding will be more consistent.

But when its windy connect to the 5th only. The kite wont impact the water hard and your kite will last a very long time.

Forgot to mention the 14m,

It goes hard upwind and I find it out performs most kites for upwind in our area.
I have the right length board for me which is brilliant for upwind. Its a 143 x 40, awesome size.

Many people say its a fast kite for a 14m. (I would like it faster but Im picky and thats my job)

Riding unhooked is great for me but I am 95kg, If you were lighter you may find it to be fairly lofty/floaty when unhooked. Great for powered air passes with the soft bar ends.
No big deal, keep the kite low for blind and wrapped stuff, you will be fine.

I dont really need to close the depower stap to keep the 14m flying forward when unhooked. But I do close the strap when riding the unhooked on the 11m.

There are a bunch of 14m kites out there. I do have a few brand new ones left. They are going at rock bottom price for $799 complete with a bar, materials and manufacturing warranty, including shipping.

Ok the stopper is in the right spot now.

How do you relaunch the kite when its in the water and it looks like it is sitting on the beach? Like done in the Basic skills video?

Trade secret......
Just grab the center lines above the depower strap and give it a hard solid pull.
The arc will straighten, when the arc recoils it will stand on the wing tips and launch.
If you're hooked in, hang on for a hot start. Or if you have shortened/pulled the 5th line through the bar before attempting, the kite will flip over like the video.

Will the 9 meter o.s. still be OK for 80kg person in 30 knots?
Or is a 7 meter o.s. a better choice of size?
Is a 5 meter kite an option?

I dont want to ride unhooked in 30 knots just riding small chop like onshore waves.

All 3 of those kites will work for you in 30knts.

9m
It will have better bottom end in an average 20knts of wind and better hang time than the 7m. A local guy here who has been kiting for 6 months is 75kg on a 138 x 42 board. His top end on the 9m is 30knts up to 35knt gusts.

7m
You will be more loose to wave ride. The 7m has great bottom end in lighter conditions if you ride fast. There may be a big difference between the 11m and 7m for QLD weather. Another Gero local guy (75kg) has an 11m and 7m quiver. These work well for him but we have good 25knt conditions. My top end (95kg) is basically 45knts. We have seen 50 knots on the weather bouys when I have been out on this size.

5m
This is a storm kite. Great for chicks and kids when its windy. It needs 25 - 50knts for 80kg rider.

I can gaurantee you can safely self land these kites even if the bridle fails. They are all fitted with Neutralizer 5th line safety

If you're looking at a 9m and 7m - can do a good price including shipping.

Do these sizes have bridles?

No bridles. The kite works perfectly well without them.
