Ozone say they are releasing a dedicated wave kite, the REO.

We've been waiting for this kite since we first heard about it in October. Very Exciting news for wave rippers. A kite that will be better in the waves than the Catalyst? I wanna try that! New Bar too, Woohoo!

Ozone generally don't do things by half measures and Robbie has more passion and talent at design than most others put together.

Bring it on! SIK!

Hey DM

What have they changed with the bar from the current 2011 ? Will we see this new bar across the 2012 range ?

Looks like a three strut kite ?

Hi addikt,

I can't say much because Ozone are playing their cards pretty close to their chest and haven't let too much on, and I'm not allowed to repeat what I have been told in any case.

Just imagine though, if Ozone listened to all the feedback they have been getting (coz they do) from their team riders, dealers and loyal customers, and then implemented all those changes plus others ........ What sort of bar would that be like?

The new bar is a further refinement of the current one, but with the addition of a totally new push away chickenloop and other features refined from mega amounts of testing. New grip, this bar is one of the sweetest kite bars I've seen and its been under development for 2 years!!! The pic in tobes post is from Taranaki, an awesome wave spot, more cross on and down the line than Raglan tends to be most of the time, the boys use both spots regularly. Dave Edwards whom many of you will remember from the early days of kiting is an Ozone team and test rider in NZ and is constantly testing the Reo at Taranaki with Robbie Whitall.
The white colour in Tobes pic has been dropped.

Regards

Steve

Steve you were saying you've flown the reo, how does it differ to the cat?

Its a 5 strut kite so the canopy has more support and will deliver power from out wide in the window and solid progressive power when you turn it and hold some rear line tension. It turns better/faster/tighter than the Cat, and will reward good riders in a wide range of styles and conditions. Its been built specifically for wave riding.

@eppo, final production of the bar is not finished, I have seen the complete bar on a computer, and I have seen the real life final production prototypes, it is an awesome bar and chickenloop, you will just have to wait a bit longer to see some photos, sorry.

I'm crazy, its a 3 strut kite, but what I meant to say was that the designer has built a canopy and profile that is as stable as most 5 strut kites.
