Has anyone tried the peter lynn kite cat? Or made there own kite boat?

Im thinkin of making something similar to the peter lynn cat but a 2 seater and with a bit of storage, more suited to fishing and camping on islands. Any ideas or pictures would b great

I've owned peter lynn kites - early ones -about 8-9 yrs ago, probably was kiting before you had even heard of the sport. Will check out the google, ta.

PS appreciate the humour, hope you wasn't being a smart ass though

Saw one in "action" and I use that term very loosely, in the Christchurch estaury a couple of years ago.

After the initial curisoity I just thought "Why ?"

More kite cat "action", this one's got wheels under the pontoons to kite the beach and water.

We had one a while ago. They are a bit cumbersome but once you are in and worked it out they are great fun. Like buggying on the water.

I Reviewed one for kiteworld magazine ages ago here in the lovely u.k
was pretty fun but not worth the money, and you feel very disconnected from the water, I prefer a buggy on land and a board on the water.
But for ease of use one guy who hardly flew any kites and had no idea how to kitesurf was ripping around on it

someones got too much money to spare .Quite cool nevertheless .Perhaps they should be working on a kite powered spacecraft to get the astronauts into space now that the space shuttle has retired

would work better with a PeterLynn kiye because of the auto zenith feature.

Imagine death loops on a kite cat? Or a water relaunch?

Mick from Kite-Mix in Carnarvon brought this little number up to the Exmouth Expo.
Dubbed the Kite-Mix Kite-Kat - he uses it as a fun boat and as a rescue craft in his kite school.

Awesome fun - works really well.
Ive been looking around for an identical (cheap) hull to build my own 'Copy-Cat' ever since.

Thats wat i was planning on doing too. Then i found the hobie adventure island its a trimaran kayak with a furling sail its awesome i took it out yesterday in light wind no way a kite would of flew and we were doing 8 knots sitting back. Gonna head out 20 miles in it this weekend to the islands. U could buy the trimaran and power it by kite instead of a sail but sails just so easy
