The EGO and Vice from Fluid kiteboarding are great wake style kites.
www.fluidkiteboarding.com

The EGO has alot of options for turning speed and depower.

Where are you located im sure you could demo one.

Hadlow Pro of course. You need a bit of experience though. Not optimal as first Kite ever 

just because a kites marketed for a certain style doesn't mean its good for that style of riding.

Just get your hands on a C kite and you'll be all good. I found the Airush Razor to be my favourite this year, all the new LF stuff is a bit whack IMO for wakestyle, torches are ok and fuels are pretty nice too, didnt really rate the vegas at all, and the C4 is a pretty good kite too.

Try a C4, RPM or fuel. Anything C will be worth a demo.

You tried the Hadlow too right? Seem to remember you comparing it to the Razor?
I also hear LF is more marketing than performance in real life. some say they peaked with the Hifi comp in 2009, when they had both af Hifi and a Hifi Comp.

What do you mean by that you didn't really rate the Vegas? Didn't try it og didn't like it?

I got the Hadlows but only tried the 7m so far (in some 30 knots)

You Started with the best brand so don't go backwards, stick with slingy, get yourself some fuels & you won't look back, and just remember you get what you pay for
And funnily enough that is what world #1 is riding

The one thing they did stuff up was the bar, way too many bits & pieces so pair it up with the "Pro bar" or the 04/05 bar and its a good setups

Who is that nowadays?

(Aaron Hadlow is still #1 in my book)

love the bigger RPMs for unhooked stuff. 8m is epic for boosting and waves, but dont rate it for unhooking. too twitchy and struggle when it gets over 22-25kts..

7m hadlow and 7m fuel way better. busted first s-blind on 7m fuel in 25-28kts on weekend..would have just been boosting and crusing up and down on 8m rpm. or gone for a downwinder.

hadlows good too, not where near as hardcore as you expect. 7m has a good range to and 2011 meant to have bigger range than fuel

ok lets break it all up.

with the LF HIFI they peaked in 2010, last year's was hands down the best, we just got a set of rough ones that needed a bit of 5th line tweaking as AU generally gets the first shipment of new stuff. I dont know how they did it but they really mucked up in 2011, flies just like an SLE with the added disadvantage of a 5th line, i dont rate ANY SLE for unhooking, not the havoc, not the envy not the RPM so basically they just ruined it.

vegas i flew i just didnt like the feel of it, it was a bit gusty but it was a pretty jumpy kite when i rode it, ive ridden many other kites in similar conditions that just handled it better and the unhooked feel was more like a hybrid feel than a real c feel.

yeah the hadlows are definitely a sick kite and they have an amazing unhooked range, same as the razors.. the good about these two kites is their unhooked range is considerably larger than pretty much any other kite out there. i can still hold my 9 and throw down when everyone else has to switch to 7s but still be powered enough in 18 knots on it too.

only difference really is the hadlow you had to fly it more to get the performance out of it, had to work it a bit to get you're speed up but when you pop it was pretty explosive and then followed by amazing slack, almost took me a while to get used to that feeling. when you dropped the bar in tricks though you still got pulled around a bit if you were in decent winds. I find this a bit annoying with bindings because sometimes your board anchors you.

the razor didnt have that feeling, it was a lot more user friendly and you didnt need to work it for performance, it didnt quite give the same amount of slack after the pop but it is more than enough and i can live with that knowing the kite depowers heaps more when i drop the bar and it really is just a way easier kite to use. I did change the front line settings on mine (has a "wakestyle" setting what ever that means...) and it made it so that the kite also had to be flown a bit harder to get speed etc but also gave more explosive pop and way more slack than the std settings, only draw back was it took a fair bit of depower away but still had more than the hadlow. the other benefit is the turning speed adjustment which the hadlow didn't offer.

but i guess it depends what you're into, the hadlow loops a bit harder and catches you a bit better but i rate the razor as the best all rounder and better for wakestyle tricks IMO because of that versatility.

ps. if you're doing wakestyle i dont really think a 7m is a good choice, rather do it more powered on the 9, kites more stable, slower gives better pop etc. 7 gets edged out the window too quick and moves too much.

i've never needed a smaller kite for unhooking, by the time it's that windy that i want to change down a size no one else is unhooking either.
